Why is that surprising? It has no games and died years ago.

I guess it's because I've never seen a game console left there to be recycled and I'm usually in this Best Buy 1-2 times a week. Just kinda ... I dunno. Sad.

would have grabbed controllers. IMHO anyone with a shred of common sense and knowledge of gaming culture knew how it was going to turn out.

Fads generally get dropped really hard opposed to smooth selling consoles. The reason the trend landed four years rather than the usual three was because of limited consoles. Its not the first time i've heard about the Wii getting dropped like a bad habit.

Everyone seems to rip on the Wii so I'm not surprised

I even ditched it and basically stopped gaming all together because of it in 2010

Well that's true although it does have no resale value and maybe its broken. I've seen a couple of PS2's thrown away like that as well.

You almost stopped gaming all together because of the Wii? What did it do to you?

I didn't mean forever. I mean, I only played games for like 3 hours a month from 2010 - 2012 because the Wii had nothing to play. I was a hardcore Nintendo guy then so I was dumb & didn't think of buying a different system.

The Wii was not a fad; it had a normal console lifespan of 5-6 years.
If that's a fad, so was GBA, N64, Genesis...

you know, it could just be massively broken, flood, house leak, etc.

More accurately, Wii was not a fad, motion controls however, was the fad.

Oh motion controls are alive and well, they've just migrated to mobile and handheld gaming.
