Couldn't help think this as I was at my local Best Buy today. In the front they have an area for recycling old electronics people don't want anymore. Usually it's things like 10 year old tower PCs, ancient printers, and fat tube TVs from the 1990s. Almost never anything gaming related in there. But today I noticed someone had basically left a Wii there + 4 controllers. I dunno it was just kinda ... sad. I remember when it launched at this same Best Buy there was a massive line outside for it. 

Guess they won't be upgrading to a Wii U since they probably would've kept the controllers. 

On the plus side for Nintendo, Amiibos seem to be selling quite nicely at the same Best Buy. Marth, Fox, and Villager were sold out, while Samus and Wii Fit Trainer were down to just one left each. 

I would just take it along with a few other things in that pile.

I actually thought about it, but I didn't want to look like a bum, lol. The controllers would at least be usable. I have a black Wii at home too (gave my white launch unit to my brother and bought a black one later on). 

The Wii is also IMO still the sexiest looking console ever made. Especially with the blue tray light on. 

Would they be pissed if someone took stuff from recycle area?

And to be fair, for all we know, that wii might have been broken as well as the rest of those things

Doubtful but it's right by the store entrance so it's kinda hard to take something without a lot of other people seeing you. It's alright. Sleep well mighty Wii, I'm sure you had a lot of fun games of Wii Sports and Mario Kart played on you. 

Is the Wii Fit Trainer amiibo rare by the way? I was thinking about getting it but I spent way too much this weekend on amiibos already. 

Be classic if there was a broken LCD TV screen next to the Wii.

I saw someone throw their Wii away in 2008. Seems the craze never really started.

Marth is the most rare right now.  Going for 35 on Amazon and plenty of people posting it up on ebay trying to make some cash.  I found and bought 2 Marths myself but probably won't sell 1 for awhile.

So apparently Wii Fit Trainer and Villager are rare (saw them in each store I went to though) but Marth is in more high demand for limited quanities produced (considering Marth is the only one that has experienced an inflated price on the internet so far).

To be expected.

The grannies who brought the wii have probably kicked the bucket by now.

The soccer mums have moved onto Ipads.

The kids have moved onto iphones.
