Couldn't help think this as I was at my local Best Buy today. In the front they have an area for recycling old electronics people don't want anymore. Usually it's things like 10 year old tower PCs, ancient printers, and fat tube TVs from the 1990s. Almost never anything gaming related in there. But today I noticed someone had basically left a Wii there + 4 controllers. I dunno it was just kinda ... sad. I remember when it launched at this same Best Buy there was a massive line outside for it.
Guess they won't be upgrading to a Wii U since they probably would've kept the controllers.
On the plus side for Nintendo, Amiibos seem to be selling quite nicely at the same Best Buy. Marth, Fox, and Villager were sold out, while Samus and Wii Fit Trainer were down to just one left each.
