Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Itagaki-san teases ambitious multiplayer plans for Devil’s Third *Daily updates*

Sounds more and more like a third person Timesplitters with twice the shrooms.

I'm so hyped for this game... Just waiting on some fresh multiplayer goodness on my WiiU!

I'm on the fence with this one.
What we saw at E3 had conceptual potential, but needed a LOT of work.

I love the wacky/quirky style this game is going for, but it won't mean much if the core of the game is just not up to par. Hopefully it turns out well for them, the Wii U could definitely use a few more quality exclusives from genres not typical of Nintendo platforms.

I'm so confused. I thought Devil's Third was a single-player action game. Maybe I was tuning it out during E3.

Re-watching footage of this game it's making me wonder,

Destructible buildings correct? Or just the ones you created for your base?

Are those planes pilotable or air strike? If air strike, what would be the point of choosing different ones? Different attacks or what? Or is it like a strategy game thing where as you level up or get more money you can buy access to different vehicles for strikes(essentially CPU controlled to do just one thing)

First person shooting, or just for the iron sights? Because I saw two instances of third person shooting, with the chain gun, and the shot gun. Or is it just no first person shooting for specific weapons? The flame thrower doesn't use iron sights and was just firing away.

Just how deep is this melee combat? I'm seeing what looks to be a dash. Throwing your weapon is in there as well as locked in melee kills. You can block, but can you counter? Can you have an all melee match and remove all guns?

Just what role will the touch screen play? I was figuring it'd just be a map, but with base building, so much customisation and other things going on, it could be a much bigger role. But then again it is is being carried over from PS360 so I'm not expecting much.

Just how big are the fighting arenas?

I'll wait for the port :P

    R.I.P Mr Iwata :'(

It sounds cool, and it sounds like it could be a potentially great game, but it's coming out on the wrong platform imho. I don't see Wii-U owners giving this game the proper support it would deserve, if it turns out to be good.

0331 Happiness is a belt-fed weapon

I really hope that you can unlock alternate characters for the single player mode...
The main protagonist is really awful, even worse than Kratos.

It will probably turn out as a solid sp and mp game, but don't expect Bayonetta 2 quality.

not worse character design than god of war. Always found Kratos design boring...
