... relative to the population, of course. Actually, I'm pretty sure the UK is the country that buys the most core consoles per capita by a comfortable margin.

The UK has almost exactly 1/5 of the population of the US. But we have XB1 at 1m, which would translate to 5m in the US. XB1 is actually at 4.2m in the US. Yes, the Xbox is doing better in the UK than in the US!

The PS4 is at 1.36m. That would translate to 6.8m in the US, compared to the actual 5.2 (!).

Combined, it would be a total of 11.8m vs 9.4, a significant diffence of 25%. British people buy 25% more core consoles per capita than the US.

Add Wii U to the mix, and things are not as good but the UK is still comfortably ahead. 13.5 vs 12.4.

Congrats Brits. Big Boss save the Queen.

Wonder how it'll compare once the holidays are over.

Perhaps I should've opened this thread when Brits are actually awake.

This dosn't how it's work because uk has 5 time less then Usa doesn't mean if uk had the same population it would consoles would sell 5 time more

PS4 - over 100 millions let's say 120m
Xbox One - 70m
Wii U - 25m

Vita - 15m if it will not get Final Fantasy Kingdoms Heart and Monster Hunter 20m otherwise
3DS - 80m

Does the UK see the same kind of boost over Black Friday and Christmas as the USA does?

If however,  you allow the Wii U to be defined as a core console... the deviation drops to about 10% which is negligible.  After all, Americans have bought the Wii U at a rate in excess of 10× the UK...which is double what the population difference would have you believe is possible.

UK doesn't really get a black friday boost... since we don't have black friday

We still get a huge xmas boost though, maybe even more than the US gets considering theirs is split between black friday and the weeks before xmas.

What about Cyber Monday?!  Tell me you get Cyber Monday!
