Yeah next we will have Smash Kart, Smash Tennis, Smash Golf, Smash Party, Smash and Sonic at the Olympic Games, Smash Footbal, Smash 3on3 Basketball, Smash Paint, 3D Smash that redefines gaming... the list just goes on of upcoming Smash spinoffs =P

I'd be down for Smash Kart, tbh ;)

It's already happened. We have Link, Villager, and Isabelle in MK8.

Glad it's scoring well, Brawl was one of my favorite games last gen. Love the crazy amount of content, music, and Nintendo's push to increase my favorite game franchise's popularity. MOAR FIRE EMBLEM. *froths at the mouth*

*cleans up*

For people crying hypocricy, there's plenty of rabid fans that apply, but keep in mind that it's definitely possible to find fault with one review and not another based on the merits of the review itself. If one review is too harsh for something that doesn't bother many people, and another game doesn't have many faults to begin with, I don't see how it's hypocritical to like one review and not the other.

Note: I haven't played either game in question, so I can't speak to which faults either might have. I just don't think it's fair to have to either accept all reviews or ignore all of them. Nothing wrong with coming to individual conclusions.

I dont care if people are trying to make jokes. Point is that people aren't suddenly contesting the score, but rather embracing it, so your point is moot. I read it as "If pokemon had less water, it would have gotten higher than 7.8. If Smash had tons of water it would have scored less than 9.8." They are jokes, nothing more, and terrible ones at that.

This is the same outlet that was claimed to have a bias last gen, yet named Galaxy as game of the generation. And when that happened, guess what, it wasn't contested.

When the score isn't what they like, they bitch and moan.

When the score is what they like, they don't contest it like they do the scores they don't like.

I've been around long enough. I've seen how it works.

Great score either way and deserved. Played it myself, but if it's a spade, i'll call it a spade.

Why would I complain about the things they get right? I personally have no real qualms with the Pokemon score, but I don't see any logic in discounting everything someone does just because you disagree with a specific thing (or a few specific things)...it isn't a black and white issue (its an ORAS issue...sorry, bad pun). I will complain about the specific instances in which a site produces something that I find to be bullshit, but why would I complain about the things they produce that aren't bullshit? This review is well written and fairly comprehensive, with a score that matches the critiques and the critiques and praise being logical and well elucidated... why should I complain?

I genuinely do not understand what your problem is here...

It's definitely nice to see Smash Bros getting more consistent review scores as the series progresses :D

It helps that it isnt an annual release causing the gameplay to become stale and stagnant. And that it is clear a lot of care goes into tweaking the core mechanics and adding bonuses.

Suddenly Nintendo fans forget the Pokemon review and now love IGN.

Ah, how lovely things work.

Quoted for truth.

Not exactly. You can disagree with a review all you want but when you make a general comment about a site for its reviews ("IGN is trash anyways", "you can't spell ignorance without IGN", "I stopped caring about IGN years ago"), then you most certainly can't praise them when it suits you. Well, you can but it's still hypocritical. Of course that is not limited to Ninty fans. I've seen other users being hypocritical about IGN and Gamespot. And to an extent Polygon.

great score. well deserved. #toomuchwater :)
