Forums - Gaming Discussion - Is MS doing enough to win you over/back

The only thing I'm pissed off about with M$ is putting inferior hardware in the Xbone. The UI, Kinect, Multitasking and especially TV are all good with me.

The way I see it, there can be only one console that is the "best" hardware wise every generation. The One does not match up to the PS4, bu at least it can mostly keep up with multiplatfors, something that was rare before last generation. Usually the power difference between consoles makes multiplatform development much harder.

Not yet. I can't download 20GB games, so 24h demos, MS bundles with digital vouchers and 15GB day 1 patches all do nothing to win me back.

I'm waiting for a store bundle with a physical copy included, 399,- with 1TB drive means sold.
A fix for the gamma shift would be nice too, but I can adjust my set for that as I did for the 360.

MS is on the right track, however still ignores people with crappy internet.

Considering that most of the consumer base that would be interested in buying a new console has decent internet, you can't expect MS to lower profit margins for almost no gain by bundling in physical software. Look, I sympathise with you, but blaming MS is not right, especially when Sony and Nintendo have both done it this gen. There is a big chance digital is the future, so at this point console manufacturers will do everything they can to promote digital media.

I hate gaming journalism, the Xbox One Internet policy stuff was completly overblown there was so much false information flying around. Also they left out how Sony was planning to do the same thing, there was a reason Sony let Microsoft go first at E3, they wanted to see how people reacted to the policies. After Sony saw how hated they were, they changed their stance left the policies out and manipulated the situation. Sony is like Palpitine from Star Wars, the whole universe loves him but don't realize the evil behind their actions.

Sunset Overdrive didn't sell well. That's really the only reason they're giving it away. If you were on the fence of buying that than you just saved yourself $60. Which brings me to my next point, it takes more than free games and price reductions to tempt me into buying an Xbox One. I already have a PS4 and none of the XB1 exclusives are worth it at the moment. Not even combined.

So what would it take? It would take more than Halo. It would take something that defines a generation like Gears Of War was last-gen. The odds of that happening are very low though. These days these genre defining-games will most likely be multiplatform and t hose play best on my PS4.(mostly)

What would REALLY tempt me is a $250 Slim XB1 in a few years. Free access to multiplayer games would also be good but I know that's never going to happen.

lmfao. You're accusations are ridiculous and you have nothing to prove your claims.

E3 presentations are planned months in advance. Company policies and strategies are planned YEARS in advance. Stuff like that doesn't change overnight.

I was hoping they would come clean my house but it's obvious that isn't going to happen....

Shuhei Yoshida himself admitted they had planned the same thing. They just never revealed, so while the world was just pointing at the the Xbox One, PS4 hid the fact they were going to do everything from DRM to the PS Eye being bundled with the PS4. Good thing Sony only let you know what they wanted.

Didn't billions of living beings die in Star Wars after Palpatine's empire fell? Some alien race attacked it after that iirc and caused many to die.

I never understood why the empire of the Sith Lords was considered evil anyway. Rebels usually make things worse, not better. :o

But Star Wars sees everything in good or evil, nothing in between... And no girls or black guys either lol... There was like one black guy and 4 girls in the original trilogy.

Sorry for the off-topic post lol.

They've nailed everything for me, apart from the price of the system, given I already own a PS4.

RIP Dad 25/11/51 - 13/12/13. You will be missed but never forgotten.

Not yet, they need more exclusives since I'm getting all 3rd party games on ps4.

Nope.  No need for the Xbox One.  My PC , PS3 and Xbox 360 are all I need now.  Looking for deals on a PS4 down the road, though.  Unless Halo Guardians is an absolutly incredible, mind-blowing game, my ties to MS are officially over.
