Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Disney Nintendo Acquisition?

i think it is a good thing like what others have mentioned here, if Nintendo would still do their part that would be great. Kingdom Hearts to Nintendo future console as an exclusive only? plus Marvel and other big Disney product.

but i agree, no to Mickey Mouse to Smash.

Do it the other way around and introduce Nintendo stuff to Disneyland.

Much better!

Why? Because if Disney would buy Nintendo they would give the IP to EA like they did with StarWars games. Fuck this potential future!

Please don't!

Let Nintendo be weird and independent. It's good for the games industry to have 3 different and viable players, which makes it especially important that they stay independent and different from Sony and Microsoft where they're part of a larger ecosystem

oh no, pls no..

I'd wager that Tencent would actually be the most likely company to buy Nintendo.

To those unfamiliar, Tencent is a Chinese internet services company similar to Yahoo or Google, but is pretty involved in a lot Chinese PC gaming. Tencent on its own is worth over $130 USD.

They of course want to expand in the West, and I think the Nintendo brand could help them really kill it.

Tencent happens to own Riot Games, makers of League of Legends...

Over 130$!?

If that's the case I can buy them myself.

Is this even possible? Last I heard foreign companies can't acquire Japanese companies.

According to Yahoo Answers, Walmart bought Japanese company Seiyu Group.

Seiyu Group is owned by Walmart alright, using Yahoo Answers as a source is a terrible idea though.

And I validated the source by finding out if it was really true. I hate when people discredit Yahoo answers or Wikipedia because their is good viable information to be found from both sites, also works as a good reference site to find out answers to a question such as "Can American companies acquire Japanese companies?" where as I would have to read through an entire freaking novel to find out a simple answer.

No way.
And Disney probably make them multi platform, no thank you.

Fuck... I was hoping it was true. Kinda hate when big American companies expand too much.

As a DIS shareholder.....YES PLEASE (I imagine such an acquisition would send DIS stock up) .
As a Disney Theme Park fan......YES PLEASE (I want a SMK, SSB, and SMW ride at Magic Kingdom)
As a videogame fan.....maybe (I can see it being good and bad. Just look at what happened to LA)
