Forums - Sales Discussion - Looks like X1 will get November

I regrettably have to concede that it looks like all of the X1 deals will indeed cause the X1 to win November. I still don't think the X1  will close the gap by the end of the year though as we will still see PS4 boosts on Nov. 18, Black Friday, and the holidays. Depending on Nov 18 sales and Black Friday its still possible for Sony to take the lead in November but it would be difficult at this point. What's even more impressive than X1s temporary success (will not sustain these sales once the price goes back up and the deals are gone) is the fact that the great X1 sales haven't hurt the PS4 sales. It's still selling over 150k a week which has been an average number for it. These next two weeks in November should be very interesting and make it a close month as far as NPD results go. Also glad to see adjustments made, I figured Sony must be in the 14 millions by now.

BTW Black Friday week is ~60% of US console sales in november. Winning BF is a huge factor in November console sales, so it's not sure yet.

Nintendomination on black Friday. There will be weeping.

In the US, yes. Not overall though.

Yeah, from people that actually believe that.

OT: Not worldwide, how would that happen?

Hmm.. Don't be so sure..   Thanskgiving and Black Friday are ONLY USA..  So there will be NO sales booast for Sony anywhere else in the world besides the USA.. I still think PS4 will take worldwide for November, but the possibility is there for X1 to have a real chance... for once..

Predictions on 12/01/15 - Generation 8 Totals:

PS4: 85-95m
X1: 55-65m
WiiU: 20-30m

well i would think there would be more xbo in stock than ps4, supply could be the difference.

Exactly this.

Any victory is good of course, but if it's not worldwide then it's sadly not too great.

I always said X1 would win November this year. And that was before the aggressive bundling and price drops.

Although I do think that they have just brought a lot of sales forward slightly rather than taking a load of consumers away that were thinking of getting a PS4, and I would expect less of a December bump than what PS4 will get

It's possible, though I don't think it's probable. It is going to have to outsell it by over 200k

if sales double in the US for both consoles that week, it won't be able to.

Keeping in mind that every week closer to christmas, europe and japan sales for ps4 will be growing as well.

Current global gap is 150k. Next week will be over 200k
BF week, ps4 will be 150k over xb1 in euro and 10k over in japan.

xb1 actually needs to beat ps4 in the US by over 350~400k

I just don't see it happening, because that would mean that xb1 would have to do close to 650-700k in the US and ps4 would have to do 300-350k.
I see the numbers going down more like 450k xb1 US and 300k ps4
