I'm telling you Nintendo is going to rock this holiday man.

They are making the right moves. People don't realize is that this is a marathon not a race. Nintendo should know they've been in it longer than almost anybody else....

I'm pretty sure a marathon is a race.

Meant sprint.....

Marathon or sprint.  Either way, they're coming in last.

Now is Pacther expecting 4M LTD or 4M this holiday season?

"I think it will be the HDS"-Me in regards to Nintendo's next handheld.

Best holidqy season ever...for Wii U.

Maybe a better holiday season than Wii's 2012, but I dunno if it can quite do that.

I agree they can have a resurgence with profits and i'd say they will play it really safe with the production of their next console. So massive losses prob won't occur even if the Wii U 2 flops.

But in terms of the Wii U making a comeback absolutely not. In October it sold a mere 69k units. Japan it sold maybe 30k and the rest of the world was bad. SSB will give it a great boost but that's not hard when the baseline is so low. It will be like MK8. Then by Feb it will have gone back down.

I hope they don't play it too safe w the next console -  I think that has been one of the problems w the Wii u-  they wanted to see if the market would commit to it before they were willing to - they have been playing catch up ever since

they could make an over all profit on it though. If they had of gone full tilt and it cost a lot more to make they could have lost a shit load of money.

I don't mean they should have made more expensive hardware as much as committing to the potential of the gamepad-  yea it would have taken more upfront investment but that is the reality of the videogame home console market that exist today -  it's not like it wa when Nintendo owned the market - in a way, the success they had w the Wii prob convinced themselves the market would comit to them first but that is. It likely to happen often and after the slow launch of the Wii u and its software ( as it was w the 3DS) I imagine most people will be willing to wait Till after launch to see how things go before committing to their next platforms

The hardest part is over. The media perception of Wii U being dead has been the hardest thing to overcome. There were so many articles telling people to wait for the X1 and PS4 to launch. It really hurt Wii U during the 2013 year. Gamespot's article about Nintendo's Plan to kill the Wii U and they did a 'The Point' episode asking if the Wii U is dead come to mind. Now they are calling it an essential console to own.

To go from that to where they are now with all the positive coverage is nothing short of a miracle. All the nominations for The Game Awards 2014 is proof that Wii U is recognized on a industry level now. I hope it translates to good sales for Nintendo and the Wii U. They both deserve it.

at this point nintendo would need to personally fund publishers to make their 3rd party games for the next console. That will cost a ridiculous amount of money.

Resurgence? It might do well during the holidays but will be back to its low numbers in a few months. Same for X1.

OMG Pachter! Why did you also have to jinx the Wii U. Isn't trolling the Xbox 1 bad enough? smh
