Is there a Nintendo spin on this list? Of course there is! However, GLaDOS is at the top by a mile - Valve were the only Western developer that hooked me during the 7th generation, and the two Portal games were the best example of how to merge story, gameplay, characters, visuals and audio into one phenomenal cohesive whole.

Oh, and Damon Gant counts where most of the cast of Phoenix Wright don't because while the Phoenix Wright games are GBA remakes, the case Damon Gant is in is exclusive to the Nintendo DS version, so he falls within the rules!
