great USA numbers for XOne really keeping it hitting hard,impressive price & bundles and good s/ware sales ,Xbox don't want to lose USA without a fight

i know its last week but germany really powering the PS4 now like UK numbers,good for PS4 and obviously PS4 chugging along on half a mill for the last 2 weeks is impressive

i'm so happy gamers are embracing next gen in such huge numbers. Devs will be so confident with making games now and not having to worry about the console having bad sales for their game. Gonna be an epic gen. 

I don't think the general public cares if a game is excusive or not. They buy popular games and those tend to be multi-platform. The console with the highest amount of exclusives isn't going to sell the most. 

Am I a Sony-sinner for wishing that Microsoft wins November + December this year? I think Sony has been a little too relaxed with the PS4s sales success. I want Phil Spencer and Shuhei Shoshida to have a Twitter war. I want blood to be spilled and I want fanboys to have meltdowns.

Ignring the sensationalists and the naysayers.... I have never had a doubt in my mind that consoles will thrive. Its almost as if a lot of posters online or the industry media in general just completely lack a handle of exactly who buy consoles or why they sell. I expect this console generation to be smaller than the last one, meaning that it wont sell 270M+ combined units. But I don't see that as a bad thing if the user base is more focused and active than ever before. At the end of the day teh real determinant of the industry should always be just how much software is being sold as opposed to how much hardware is being sold.

eg, If 260M consoles move 1B units of software per year and 150M consoles moves 2B units of software per year, then in my book the console generation moving more software is more successful and represents a real tangible growth in the industry. I would have though this inda reasoning is common sense. But apparently its not lol.

Seriously, why do people keep saying this? What are they expecting Sony to do?

Regardles of everything MS is doing and has done, PS4 is still managing to sell better than it. At least globally. Sony isn't being relaxed. Even if they were they can afford to, they have earned that right by doing all the right things leading into this generation of consoles. 

People seem to be giving MS a lot of credit for trying, I feel that praise is misplacedcause what you are seeing is a company desperately trying to not even "win" but rather just stay competitive. Its safe to say that MS has been literally forced to blow their load too early. We all know that price cuts for the PS4 will come and that the great games will also come. Sony is staying and for the most part still winning the fight while practically doing nothing. If I were in MS shoes, I would dread what happens when sony actually starts fighting back.

Also, we'll be looking at about 30 million PS4s+X1s at the end of the year and next year will still have cross gen releases, seriously publishers, I think it's time to cut the last gen versions of your games and invest those resources in the next gen version so that they actually work upon release.
