Rockstar has been known to throw parties for the gaming press. Their marketing budget is not small.

GTA V is the better game, that's why.

Your expectations to be able to travel to every city on the planet is ridiculous and down right stupid. More people are clearly rating GTAV higher, that's why it has a higher Metascore. If you're having fun what does it matter? Don't have to try and tear another game down because you like the game you're playing better. I'd personally say Dragon Age Inquisition is better than both of them:p

Destiny had a huge marketing budget, but that didn't get it good reviews.

GTA V is the best game ever made, in terms of scope, innovation and fun.

+ Great local multiplayer
+ Lots of items

Cons:

- Too Much Water

GTAV was a pretty amazing game at the time and most review sites seem to operate on the policy that if a game got a certain score before that if it's remade it should at least get that same score again unless something has been directly screwed up with the remake. That's just a difference of opinion on if a review is a rating of a product or a rating of the work done by the developers. Personally I always give a remake a bit of a downgrade in value because it's content that already existed and has simply been re-purposed and I don't think that's as meaningful as brand new content, but I don't think that's the standard thinking among reviewers.

SSB:U only has 15 reviews...and that one 80 review from the National Post brings it down by a whole point. Otherwise, it's pretty close.

But hey, it's a god damn 94 meta. So who the fuck cares?
