Forums - Gaming Discussion - Anyone see any good reason why GTAV's(PS4/X1 editions) meta is higher than Smash U's?

Can't you just be grateful that it's the highest rated fighting games ever or one of them. Arguing for few extra meta points is just insane.

Well, except Smash is not a fighting game.

Then what is it?

Platform/action. Not fighting.

hahaahaaahhahahaa.... WTF? XD

Good post, especially when This years highest rated games arent even that high overall. SSBU getting a 92-95 is great either way, and GTA5+SSB getting comparisons is a little weird for a direct head to head comparison.

SSB vs SF vs PSASBR  or GTA vs Watchdogs is more appropriate

exactly, comparing a GTA game with Smash is pointless.

Thank you, it kinda is. Comparing scores is fine but again how can we compare a fighter to that of an open world sandbox? (directly).

Glad you agree :)

Smash isn't a 10 out of 10 because while the game is fun its still pretty much the same game since Melee. If you want a perfect 10 you have to set an example, which GTA 5 did, the reason why remake gets insane reviews, is because the game is still great today.

No it definitely isnt^ It definitely changed awhole lot. I mean overall gameplay, yes but its a fighting game. How much are they suppose to change up exactly? If they did alot it wouldn't be SSB.

That said SSBU finally got online right, 8 freaking players at once, and many more :)

Edit: My bad, its your opinion and if yu dont think itsa 10 thats perfectly fine but it definitly deserves the reviews its getting :0

2 points difference is kind of within Metacritic's margin of error owing to different having different sets of reviewers on each game & platform.

Someone can explain to me why Uncharted 2 has 105 reviews score on Metacritic?? Is the game that got more review in the history of Metacritic. If Uncharted 2 have gotten a lower number of reviews, the score probably could be bigger like one 97/98 on the Metascore.

The more opinions the more actual concensus. Take LoZ:OoT and GTA IV for example. For anybody that doesn't know, when GTA IV released it held a perfect 100 on metacritic for quite some time. OoT (Ocarina of Time) has 22 reviews on metacritic. By the time GTA IV got 22 reviews it was still at 100 and stayed that way for many more reviews until more critical reviews started pouring in. Its just the name of the game, metacritic averages overall reviews and that's all. Metacritic is useful in some ways but its not the truth seeker that some think it is.

Any time a well reviewed game gets extra polish reviewers feel the need to add extra points to the score (understandable). Just enjoy the fact that Nintendo has the two highest-rated NEW retail releases of the year. Is the GTA V remaster scoring highly really bothering you that much?

Anyone who thinks I'm defending Smash, btw, clearly doesn't know me. I consider both games rubbish.
