Let's not forget that, MS isn't in the console business to "win" but they're in it to make money. If MS wanted to win, they would give away consoles for $20 apiece.

MS can't cut the price much more. I think they're already losing money on each console sold. I don't expect a permanent $299 price tag until after 2015; Probably when a Slim launches.

I suspect though MS' play from here on out may be to keep the XBox One $50 cheaper than the PS4 at all times.

Xbox One is basically selling for less than 299$ because the AC:U bundle (including AC : BF) costs 349$.

I wouldn't be surprised by a stand-alone Xbox One SKU for 299$ or less at retail.

Later in 2015 I think. PS4 will get a $100 cut late in 2015 I reckon and MS will either go slightly before or will reactively cut to $299 with a free game. PS4 will be without a game.

I think MS will make this $50 cut permanent in January and apply it across all markets.

Nah, they'll go back to the $350 pricepoint if sales drop too much after the holidays. $300 for holiday 2015 if the PS4 still outsells the $350 XB1.

Yup, especially if sales are not holding up to the PS4 in the US for long, they will do this as well... given what Sony has in store for 2015 they will need to lower the price... and well, I think Sony will lower theirs at the latest by March... so MS will have to adjust by then.

I wish the Wii U had a tablet controller less version for 150$... but this is not happening.
