As I said it went after the casual crowd and ended up losing marginally to smart devices. And who the fuck said I was sticking up to the PS3, is tu quoque the only argument tactic you know ?

If you wanna count the Wii as last gen with electronic entertainment such as wii sports, just dance, wii fit, wii play you have to count the iphone as well. You can't expect recognition for making up a route, running alone and arriving at a different ending. What the PS3 won can be reflected on the success of the PS4. What the Wii won is money for nintendo and nothing else. The wii competed for casual gamers and lost big time to smart devices. |
Sony and Microsoft tried to get casuals too, or are we going to discount all the 360s sold thanks to Kinekt? Tablets and mobile can't be counted with consoles because games are an option and not the focus. The focus of the Wii was videogames, games for everyone, but videogames nonetheless.

COD, Halo, GTA, Fifa, Gran turismo, Need for speed, battlefield, Assasins creed ect are all fairly casual titles that sell to a lot of people who arent largely gamers. A lot of people bought PS360 for them and those are the only games they ever play on it. Oh and then there was kinect and move where sony and microsoft tried to compete with Nintendo.
Doesn't really change much in the end though if you want to ignore the wii go for it.

It's like you don't realize the PS2 sold over 150 million on the backs of the very "casual" crowd the Wii stole from it. The Wii was absolutely competing with the PS3, for the PS2 audience.
And Sony definitely wanted that PS2 audience, that's why the PS3 was a Blu Ray player.

I asnwered that. The PS3 & 360 provided a bit of everything. The reason the Wii brand is so untrustworthy is because of how one-sided it was. It was sorely tied to a gimmicky motion controller. Wii fit and Wii sports etc are barely games. Thus the term electronic entertainment.
Making calls was the primary purpose of cell phones in the 90s. Now they are sophisticated versatile tech devices. Entertainment is the focus of a 400$ phone.
either ps3 or xbox one, ask me at the end of xbox ones life.

You are being elusive. They are broad appeal titles not casual the same certain mini games are casual. Wii sports and wii play is the exact type of entertainment smart devices offer.
I am not ignoring the Wii, gamers and publishers are because its legacy is toxic.
