Forums - Music Discussion - What are your top 10 favorite songs from the year you where born?

So I was born in 1972 and here are my top 10 favorite songs that where released that year.

1.  Whiskey In the Jar - Thin Lizzy ( The lyics go back hundreds of years, its one of the most underrated songs of the 70s and much better then the Metalica cover)

2. You are the Sunshine of My Life - Stevie Wonder

3. Witchy Woman - Eagles

4. Back Stabbers - The O'Jays

5. Could it Be I'm Falling in Love - The Spinners

6. Rocket Man - Elton John

7. Ventura Highway - America

8. Papa Was a Rollin' Stone - The Temptation (not as good as their ealier stuff pretty much their last great song)

9. You Wear it Well - Rod Stewart

10. Go All The Way - Raspberries (Guardians of The Galaxy brought this back on my radar good lyrics, great instrumental work)

I used this site site to make my list

Oh god. I have no idea. I can't think of a single one. Bad year, I guess.

Well I'm going to assume that you where born in 1995 going by your age in your profile.  These are the 120 most popular songs from that year going by the site I used.

I would have a hard time coming up with a top ten list for that year.  The 90s as a whole where pretty underwhelming when it comes to music.

Michael Bolton - Said I loved you but I lied

Aye, I feel your pain. If I only was born 10 years earlier...

"Most popular" doesn't do the job, though. Oasis, huh? Never took the time and effort to get into them, maybe they could have dominated a possible list for me. Unfortunately, the only song I've heard from them that I REALLY like is from 1994.

Never really listened to Oasis either.  If had to make a top 10 for 1995 I'm guessing two of the 20 more worth metioning would make it since I kinda like Scream by Michael Jackson and Janet Jackson and Lump by The Presidents of the United States of America (mostly due to Saints Row 4).

Could probably switch a few singles for singles off the same album, but this is an "in no order" list. These are from 1976. Love the seventies...no Pink Floyd album that year. :o(

Hotel California- Eagles
Dirty Deeds- ACDC
Back in the Saddle- Aerosmith
Radar Love- Golden Earring
Breakdown- Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers
More Than a Feeling- Boston
Turn the Page- Bob Seger
Somebody to Love
Beth-Kiss
First Cut is the Deepest- Rod Stewart

Does it hurt too much? It certainly doesn't for me

I'm not the "I was born in the wrong time" kind of guy. Yeah it's kinda boring that I can't think of a single 1995 song I love (and I can think of so much good stuff music-related in 1994, damnit), but whatever. At least I still got to see both of my favorite bands ever live. (Now if only I find the money to complete watch the third one and complete the triforce...)

Ah no it's not too bad. With the magic of the internet anybody now a days can live the 80s like they were really there. 95 wasn't that bad in other means, we got Playstation and Super Mario World 2! I'd love to see a few bands live but sadly the money situation isn't going well

Hmmmm, '92...I don't know what years songs came out.

From that website you posted Rooster is probably the only one that would be in my top ten, but the early 90's had a ton of great music. Looking at '92 though, it seems like most bands released albums in 91 and 93...

Some others:
Wake Up - RATM
Wish - NIN

Oh wow, top 10? Off the top of my head I can't think of 10 songs that released in 1989. Let me go look some up.

Unfortuantely the website I used isn't much help since they only have the top 10 for that year they are still working on raking the top 120.

You Are Not Alone by Michael Jackson came out in 95, good song to sleep to.
