MS should just make Minecraft 2, discontinue Minecraft and have MC2 be exclusive to Xbox and PC's that run Windows.

OR.

Discontinue Minecraft on everything but PC & Xbox

OR
Make 3DS and Wii U versions of Minecraft too.

Minecraft will never be released on any Nintendo platforms now that Microsoft have it. Although UCraft was directed towards Nintendo owners who couldn't play the game on their Nintendo system, in actuality most Wii-U owners probably owned a last-gen console (Xbox 360 or Playstation 3), and simply played Minecraft on it.

Now that its' gone multi-platform, its pointless releasing it on Wii-U now. If the reaction to Rayman Legends and Watch Dogs is anything to go by, the hardcore Wii-U owners it is directed at will simply boycott it.

What I am surprised about is the lack of an Android port. Releasing it as a freemium game on third party Android app stores (Amazon Appstore, notably) could work for it.

No, I think the Wii U port is worth doing.

There is a large casual audience there and its growing. Yet a Vita port was done and that platform looks pretty much dead.

Another thing I noticed is that the hype over this game is that its' "Like Minecraft, but better". In history, the "Like [product] but better" doesn't seem to work that well in generating publicity...

- IBM called their infamous OS/2 2.0 Operating System "A better DOS than DOS, and a better Windows than Windows", and ended up been crushed by Windows 3.0 after their partners Microsoft (!) abandoned OS/2 development.
- John Travolta referred to the film Battlefield Earth as "Like Star Wars, only better". It ended up bankrupting the production company, and is regarded one of the most unwatchable films ever.
- Various handhelds (Gizmondo, N-Gage, Neo Geo Pocket Color, Zodiac, DigiBLAST) have been called "Game Boy Killers" by mainstream media, and all have failed.
- Programming language Cyclone has been described as "Like C, only safer". It's failed to catch on, as all it did was make C more confusing and didn't solve any of the problems it was intended to address.
