The fact of the matter is that realistic is usually very far from grey/brown. Have the people who say that even gone outside??

Far Cry 3 is super colorful. Also, it is a decent game.

My grammar errors are justified by the fact that I am a brazilian living in Brazil. I am also very stupid.

The colors create a somber mood. Did you ever watch a Disney movie and notice towards the end that the sky has turned red? They're manipulaating your emotions with color.

Racing, racing, and one very cherry-picked Assassin's Creed image.

Edit: I'll grant ACIV, though. That looks nice.

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

I'm not sure I've ever seen a game that is only grey/brown, no idea what those people are talking about.

How about this

Maybe I'm color blind, but I see blue, black, brown, yellow, green, white, grey, and even red.

I think you are. Because all of those are very very subtle and closer to brown/grey  than thier own colours.

Only the yellow light here is nice. And the white parts of the reflection in the fountain.

Infamous second son and Uncharted series are good example too.

I played Forza horizon 2 at a friend's and i had the impression that the visuals are a little "cartoony?"(i mean the colors).Specially in rain scenes.

Racing games are always best graphic.

Welcome to England.  Also, isn't that a painting?

Btw, COD:AW has some nice colour too.

That's concept art. The actual game is primerily blue/gold/red

Have to say, i'm a big fan of TO:1886's art direction. It does a good job of capturing both the dirty/sooty feel of london in the 1800s, as well as the glamour the 'elite' of the time were used too.

I think you're interpreting the critics too literally. When they refer to games as colorless they don't mean devoid of color. I believe they mean it's without much personality, much nuance, or much imagination.

Well done.
