Gamespot is a joke since quite some time now.
Obviously they just want money.
DKCTF also only got 5/10 if I remember correctly.

DKCTF got 6/10 from them.

87 or 90 meta, not much difference really. Metacritic obsession needs to die, especially when broken games like AC: U can get a decent average there (70+).

Youre completely right.

Reviews are useless on there own no matter what... Anybody buying a game or anything for that matter based solely on reviews let alone a single one is *what I have been ban too many times for saying but you get my drift*

Ask your friends, try the game, watch videos of gameplay it'll be worth hundreds of thousands reviews...

And matter of fact halo MCC is worth more than 6 no matter how broken it is... Unless you don't like it in the first place which is a completely different matter...

Most people play Halo just for the MP only just like COD games, so releasing game that is kinda online only and not working the score is fair then, same happened to Driveclub.

"The Good
Core combat formula is engaging throughout every campaign
New Halo 2: Anniversary cutscenes are fantastic
Slick, intuitive menu organization

The Bad
Online multiplayer barely works"

Still, a 6 seems a bit low

If half the game "barely works", a 6 seems high to me.

A score should reflect the quality of the total package. Its single player could be a 10/10. If it has multiplayer and it blows, the score should reflect that. Whether MP is 50% of the game, 10% or 90% is subjective. The 6/10 is justified.

4 ≈ One

Like I said to about another review with a similarly low score, the singleplayer alone is good enough that the game deserves at least an 8. If Halo had always been a singleplayer only series you'd better believe that it wouldn't have gotten 6's, so a collection with all 4 singleplayer campaigns certainly doesn't deserve a 6. Multiplayer is getting better now anyway, got into about 6 matches in one hour. New patch coming on Monday I believe which should improve it a good deal more.

"We are currently targeting a release of Wednesday 11/19 for this content update."

Does the online functionality of MCC work atm? That said I do think with all the pros MCC would be given a higher score then 6.

A giant chunk of the game doesn't work and you think the score should be higher?  This is exactly why developers are releasing games like this. When you can release a broken game and still get a high score why not release it and just patch it later? If reviewers started doing this for all the broken games being released I can guarantee you it would stop happening so much. Low scores would affect sales and no dev/pub wants that so they would postpone the released and wait until it's ready.

Yeah especially since the issue is probably not permanent. I wonder if they will change their score then.

I don't think you can review a game based on that assumption though.  You gotta review the game in the state that it was released to the consumers.  Otherwise it just encourages publishers to continue to ship incomplete games knowing that they can just patch it later.
