Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker made by 75 people (Mario 3D World team)

Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker launched in Japan a couple of days ago. Some players have already completed the game and accessed the game’s credits.

According to those very credits, roughly 75 people worked on Captain Toad. Most of the employees were also involved with Super Mario 3D World.

Mahito Yokota, who was the composer of the Mario Galaxy games, worked on Treasure Tracker’s soundtrack.

We also learn that Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker was co-developed by 1-UP Studio, which also helped develop Super Mario 3D Land/World.

Staff positions are sadly not listed in Captain Toad’s credits. However, we do know that Shinya Hiratake directed the title. Kenta Motokura may have also been a co-director. It’s also very possible that Koichi Hayashida acted as producer.

According to those very credits, roughly 75 people worked on Captain Toad. Wasn't expecting that many, they just delayed their next big proyect even more.

My bet with The_Liquid_Laser: I think the Switch won't surpass the PS2 as the best selling system of all time. If it does, I'll play a game of a list that The_Liquid_Laser will provide, I will have to play it for 50 hours or complete it, whatever comes first.

Yeah, but I don't think it took them much time!

I do wonder if their next project will still be on Wii U!

yeah... I gues the question is for how long did they work on it? I believe  this game was in development less thena year. Many stuff could have just been swept in for the last few months to enable it going gold.

Mario Galaxy 3 is probably well underway (or whatever would be the equivalent of that).

I think it will be a launch window title for the 4DS/Fusion platform for 2016.

Nah, Holiday 2016 I bet. For WiiU, 4 years for WiiU is too short.

And I can't wait for you ot be proven wrong... a new console is not launching in 2016. seriously I have no idea why you believe that so strongly.

Cause my belief is that he believes that Nintendo will be forced to do something stupid and reckless in hopes to survive instead of riding out to the end of the generation on the current hardware.

I call these people dreamers, and I feed on the broken dreams of others. :)

yeah I expect next 3d mario is being made for wii u with the the fusion mario starting to made now too :)

No offence but I don't think internally Nintendo gives two sh*ts about what Wii U fans really think. They are giving the platform a lot of support, moreso than many other consoles that have sold that poorly.

The Wii U will probably get a Mario Galaxy 1/2 compilation in HD and that's plenty of Mario for what is Nintendo's worst selling console. Even the Wii only got two EAD Tokyo games (SMG 1 + 2), the Wii U already has 3D World and Captain Toad, I don't think a third is coming. NSMBU + NSLU + Mario Maker too.

The company's future literally IMO hangs on the 4DS/Fusion launch ... if they struggle with that again out of the gate, I think Iwata is going to get voted out by shareholders. 3DS and Wii U both suffered from bad launches, Nintendo is not stupid enough to allow it to happen again.

EAD Tokyo is their best studio, they will be on the frontlines when Nintendo goes to war in what probably will be their most decisive battle, not twiddling their thumbs making games for the Wii U as it lies on its deathbed.

Captain Toad is IMO EAD Tokyo's send off to the Wii U, enjoy it.
