In other words, give us the option to choose whether our replies would bump a thread or not. Believe it or not, what if we don't want to bump a thread we think is inflammatory or stupid, but we want to reply? Cue sage. (This would also make post ID gets viable, but that's not really the point I'm trying to make.)

(Sage posts may also count for less points, and a sage reply to your own thread would get something like 0 points, for example.)

I could see it now, people would make posts that are trolling, flaming etc... in old threads that might go unnoticed for long stretches of time or post inappropriate things in old threads while avoiding moderation.

Well at least we don't have to see it.

 
Memebrs can use an old thread to carry on private discussions without fear of moderation until someone decides to bump the thread.

Obviously, the mods will be the all-seeing eye in this operation.

And, it's not as if the thread won't be bumped up in its respective section. Just not bumped in the Hot Topics.

Anonymous moderation is good for anonymous boards.

We don't need anonymous moderation as mods do a good work here.

Honestly, I don't think this is that important, it would rarely be used anyhow, and when it would, then probably avoiding moeration as said seems a more likely use. Mods have enough to worry about already. With all the hacks this site has there's already enough toys for troublemakers to play with.
