LOL did anyone actually say that?

Nevertheless, XB1 owners ARE more FPS oriented than PS4 owners. This is why shooters always score higher attach rates on XB1 as opposed to titles of other genres (compare Destiny and COD to the likes of Watch Dogs and The Evil Within between PS4 and XB1, and you'll see what I mean). However, that is clearly not enough to truimph over PS4! It's unstoppable so far.

With the promotion, limited edition bundle, and a price drop, it would be absolutely horrendous if the X1 version isn't ahead. Of course, UK will be close (PS4 will most likely remain ahead), the US will be an X1 win, and WW, the PS4 will take it by a landslide. That's probably how COD will go all gen. The US situation will turn out different that I originally expected, but that was also before the Kinect 2.0 removal, price drop, and CoD promotion(s).

I'm wondering if this is in any way going to influence any future deals Activision have with MS?

With PS4's hold in Japan I don't think Xbox One will ever surpass it, but who cares? It's good for consumers to have more than 1 successful console. In 8 years if PS4 has sold 100 million consoles and Xbox One has sold 90 million, who cares? Congrats to PS4 for "winning" the generation, whatever that title gives.

 

The fact that the PS4 is winning has nearly nothing to do with Japan. Japan as a market for homeconsoles is on a serious decline, and will make up a very small amount of PS4 sales. The PS4 is ahead in pretty much every market besides China (Which it hasn't launched in yet). It's crushing the XBO in europe, and is leading in the US. you can also be sure that the gap between the PS4 and the XBO will be much higher than 10 million.
