Who's judging? You? LOL

People who don't read the OP or even take a second to think about the title are under this umbrella.

So you go and call me Stupid.

So you did not read the OP? :)

Today we live in a globally spanning society where stupidity is actively being praised. People post the most unreasonable and thoughtless comments on articles, Facebook, Twitter, Youtube and other media only to receive countless likes and up-votes from other persons who are dumb enough to be deceived. This, of course, encourages the up-voters to spread their own breed of stupidity in hopes of receiving the same form of praise from the masses and also serves as a means of justifying their narrow minded views. Needless to say, the snowball effect has rarely been as destructive as demonstrated above.

Ignorance breeds ignorance, and stupidity breeds stupidity. For this reason I fail to see how having one place less where stupid people can thrive is in any way harmful for our species; at this point they should be glad that they are still allowed to vote.

This idea is straight ought of Minority Report. Ban people for making outlandish predictions? Sometimes those predictions come true y'know.

I would say neither should be banned. We aren't 5 years old so being told something said was dumb shouldn't be a big deal. However I do agree that if one side is ban-able, both should be.

I would like to hear from the worldwide representative of lubricant on this matter.

Well thanks this is Internet after all, and we live behind the monitor and artificial identity. There is no real rules that set on world of Internet i guess it depend on how the site manage their members with the mods as the police and stupidity is one of the problem that difficult to judge.

in the end every one can be stupid and including me, Op and some members and Mods (we human after all), but as long is not offensive act that discriminate some users, i think it's fine .

I wish they would make joke threads bannable, such a waste of time.

I think stupid people should be able to post on VGC as stupidity is not curable..... However, only on the condition they do not vote in elections. They should not be able to do both

Select users were discussing this on a select user's wall but neither were brave enough to make a thread about it, so here I am.

I realize this sounds harsh, but it's a real problem we've been dealing with around VGC. Moderators need not worry, I won't be pointing out certain people in this thread, hence why I kept the source inspiration secret.

As an example, let's say there's a prediction thread; all's well and tbone is probably the publisher so it's a very cheerful and happy ordeal. One user comes around and predicts that SSBU will outsell SSBB, another user takes to calling his prediction stupid and tells him that he's stupid for that specific post only. Both things are true, but that user would get banned for stating fact. Is this okay? I think not, if anything the user who predicted that outlandish prediction should get banned or warned, they should've taken a look at the thread and noticed the overwhelming decision that no, SSBU had no chance to outsell SSBB, but they went ahead and said SSBU would sell 20 million units; that's practically bait to people with common sense.

Again, that's just an example, but I hope it helps illustrate this point. Do you think stupidity should be a bannable offense? Banning people with stupid posts would surely help discussion continue forward instead of everyone attacking that one stupid post.

(Let's not get silly though; grammatical errors aren't bannable offenses. Their are people who just don't know better.)

On topic:

I think there is a difference between being sloppy and being stupid. Being sloppy should be considered an offense unless it's done on purpose (like what Spurge does which is excellent). Being stupid is something that some people just can't help.

And often, it's those calling others stupid who are unable to look outside their own four walls, so that's another issue in and of itself.

This isn't true at all, but it's part of the reason why stupid people are stupid. They refuse to help themselves.

"We'll toss the dice however they fall,
And snuggle the girls be they short or tall,
Then follow young Mat whenever he calls,
To dance with Jak o' the Shadows."

Check out MyAnimeList and my Game Collection. Owner of the 5 millionth post.

We would have gotten rid of the fanboys quite fast if it happened and no more click bait headlines.  or stupid flame wars.. and we would have had more serious news. which will be seen and argued with reason no matter team, neutral or anything like that.. it would be good and even good biased discussion between adults.
