Forums - Microsoft Discussion - $299 for XB1 and Halo: Master Chief Collection at Walmart this Black Friday*

Jokes aside. This is a great deal. The Wii U price is no longer an advantage.

it was never an advantage, because it doesn t play in the same field with the other two obviously...!Those who buys only wii u...don t make   a decision between it and another console, they just love the experience it gives and others are wannabe two console owners.I don t think there are people who didnt or wont buy ps4 or xbone because wii u is cheaper...if you are just intersted in xbone or ps4 experience you won t buy a  wii u because it is cheaper(if it had the same  third party support, you might would). However if you like wii u too, you will buy both, ps4/wii u xbone/wii u, as many  people have done here:P Gamecube got two consecutive price cuts one in  2002 and another one 2003...--50$ -50$ to 99$ and didn t oblitarate ps2...lower price maybe only an advantage for xbone if people don t care so much for resolutions...!

Almost $200 price drop. Good deal. MS really wants to win NPD.

Walmart sell the xbox one with kinect for $449.  $50 cut.

The standalone ONE for $349, also representing a $50 cut if we price Kinect at $100.

So this is an extra $50 on top of the $50 for Black Friday

Do we have to keep getting this nonsesne in every thread on the subject of sales?

Entry price of XBone Nov 2013: $500

Entry price of XBone Nov 2014: $300

It's that simple. You can go into excessive detail regarding Kinect bundling and so forth, but the bottom line is that a year ago, in order to get an XBone, you had to spend $200 more than what it takes to get your hands on one now, and that's the only thing consumers care about.

Otherwise, PS3 didn't drop price for like 2 years because of "different SKUs" (as opposed to the universally accepted "it dropped $200 in 1 year" even though the 40GB was a "new SKU")

The power of $80bn held in cash is in full effect....

Now, where are all those people saying the overall business and its profits and losses are irrelevant to gaming?

Shame they didn't use all that money to make a more powerful console at a more attractive price to start with.  They would have saved themselves a lot of bother

Who knows. Apparently price isnt a factor...but now it is again?

depends on the way the wind blows i think.

Either way, this is a demonstration of how a strong parent company can make a huge difference.

Price has always been a factor in the US.  I don't see the point of using what other people have said as an argument against me when I have never said it myself.

And while this maybe a great demonstration of what a strong parent compay can do, if anything has been shown over the last 18 months, it is that it isn't enough just to have loads of money.  MS has all the cash but gets outsold 2:1 worldwide.  Not exactly impressive

Nobody is arguing with the facts, just your term usage. There has been no $200 price drop, just a reduction in entry level. If you wanna talk price cuts you gotta talk about how much the same bundle last year, costs you this year.

MS is just about giving these things away. Awesome  deal though.

so are you saying price IS now a massive factor?

I didn't say anything about any factors. I just said it's $200 less to get your hands on one now than it was a year ago (which is true), as a counterpoint to you making it seem like the console only dropped $50.

There goes my 650 k NPD xbox one prediction. I made that prediction before any deals was announced. Now selling 1 millions seem quite possible. MS is going hard this holiday.

Sweet deal!

I was hoping that there was going to be a good enough deal to pick up a PS4. Now, I might get another XB1.

It is near the end of the end....

If I lived in the US that'd be extremely tempting and I haven't even thought about getting an Xbone in the near future.

If you dont want to do the Walmart line thing, you can get it online for 379 plus s free game and live for 12 months whoch is an even better deal and lets you skip the crazyiness plus its on 329 for 1 hour on Thursday... who wants to be in a Walmart on Thanksgiving Day at 6PM... honestly...
