People lost faith in Bioware?

Yes, and I was one of them. Since EA absorbed them, they simply haven't been the same and started dumbing down their games in favour of the proverbial "broader audience". The first Dragon Age was great imo (but the second one was a terrible action game) and the Mass Effect series had massive potential but the first one had some glaring flaws and issues and the sequels became 3rd person shooters with cover mechanics that also happened to sport some RPG elements, plus the story really isn't all it's cracked up to be, run-of the mill sci-fi plot and all. The characters were pretty cool though, but that has always been one of Bioware's main strengths, which they don't seem to have lost.

As for the question posed by the OP: hard to say, I surely hope so, I know what they're capable of at their best.

That's a reasonable complaint for DA2 but I still think the Mass Effect series was great. I think Dragon Age inquisition has been given enough time in development for it to be a really great RPG. Hopefully all the extra time it has been given gave bioware enough time to make it a truly great game and from what I have seen and heard about it is definitely leaning towards being great.

Thankfully, with Dragon Age 3; it would appear that Bioware has woken up and remembered that they actually make RPG's and not shooters or action games. They still have the talent and likely more resources than ever, certainly more than they did in the golden age (Baldur's Gate I and II) so there is still major potential for amazing RPG's here.

I really, really want DAI to be true excellency. I even prebooked eb games super expensive collectors edition and is taking the day off from work.
However, I am slightly worried from what I have seen so far but I hope that is unfounded and that I Will enjoy it as much as DAO.

I totally love the characters Bioware creates.
Fav Bioware character: Mordin
Fav DAO character: Sandal
Fav DA2 character: Aveline
(because she is beleivable as a real person and even looks normal. You can even try to romance her but she is already in love with another guard)

I think finishing the Mass Effect trilogy has given them plenty of time to make the expansive Dragon Age world they have wanted to create. The fact that you can play it both more action oriented and as a strategic RPG shows that they are trying to make sure there is something there for everyone. Really excited to see the finally product in 8 days!

I think everyone loves Mordin lol. He is my favorite too. May I ask what it is you have seen that worried you about Inquisition? Everything I have seen looks great!

Some battle movements look pretty odd, like some lighthearted... dance or something.

Varric somersaulting when doing special attack, mages whipping staffs in odd ways.

It might be small details but for me it is really jarring. Call me old fashioned but I want a dark story.

Not sure where you got that people lost faith in Bioware but let assume you have for any reason:

From all the streams I watched lately I'm really hyped about Inquisition. This game is huge and with the return of the Tactical camera I believe it will attract even more people. Halo: MMC tonight + Dragon Age next week. I'm fine til The Witcher 3 comes out in Feb.!

Here's to hoping it's good. I've never really lost faith in Bioware since they haven't tossed out anything super bad lately.

Zero Escape: Virtue's Last Reward = best game ever made.

Never lost faith in them, Dragon Age will be an excellent game. Mass Effect (whatever it ends up being called) will be great too.

Most anticipated game of the 8th generation for me so far. Contrary to popular opinion I loved DA2 warts and all. I have this game pre-orders, but it comes by mail order and the service isn't always good at getting games delivered day 1. I will be a sad panda if I have to wait a week or more for it to arrive.

I'm not sure it will restore any lost faith. All it can do is keep the faithful happy. But if it doesn't meet expectations it can cause more people to lose faith in Bioware.
