Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Miyamoto: Nintendo aims to create game ideas “that could have never happened before”, no news about VR yet

I'm calling Mario dog suits, that has never been done before right? and you will be able to wiggle the tail using the innovative screen on the controller

But think if swiping an area of the screen has Mario dig in the ground for items, "green stars", stamps, ect. You may be on to something here. Lol.

Like Project Robot... -_-

Good stuff. Next console I hope for is a power glove and an inhibitor chip that's implanted into my skull so that I can telepathically play my games.

Joking aside, Nintendo is doing its own thing, which is cool. They seem obsessed with innovation though. It worked with Wii, but stuff like that is rare. People don't even want innovation in the first place, so it feels like a waste of time. I mean if they wanted it, Wii U would be first in sells, etc, etc. There aren't any consoles that have used a screen as a controller that's also in HD. Innovation. It's different! Alas, it's counter intuitive because humans don't have three hands and the best thing it can be used for is a map or an inventory screen.

Welps there's always the next-generation where Nintendo has a lot of third-party support and still continues to make solid first-party and second-party games. It's the dream I've always wanted, though I really don't play third-party games, so not much to say there.

Zero Escape: Virtue's Last Reward = best game ever made.

If there was a definition for irony, huh :D

@chapset Luckily others don't recycle their top IP. Damn you, Nintendo.

yeah sadly they are not as innovative as nintendo, ho boy do I wish I could play my games by looking at the controler instead of the screen or wiggling stuff up

Bet reminder: I bet with Tboned51 that Splatoon won't reach the 1 million shipped mark by the end of 2015. I win if he loses and I lose if I lost.

The only Mario games since the SNES that Miyamoto has had any direct involvement in outside of a producing credit are Mario 64 and Galaxy.

Maybe they'll get extra creative and make a platformer next.

I agree, it is boring. But maybe I'm just saying that since I mostly game on PC where I can get the best of multiplats, if available. And all other games I've seen I'd rather play on my PC. Actually scratch that, I'd rather play everything on my PC, but since I can't I'd rather have something unique and I guess gimmicky to move me away from my PC. Because it definitely ain't gonna be graphics that does it or like the old days, ease of use and controllers.

Sony and MS have their own second screen solutions though, but that's more an afterthought and a checklist than anything else. Although indie devs could do some cool stuff, but indies are more concerned with art games and mining nostalgia even worse than Nintendo does.
