What about latency? It says you got 114ms ping on Xbox Live, but maybe you could ping test a PSN/Steam server as well.

Only way to do that would be to pingtest via the PC, doing so results in significantly lower pings for both psn and xbl servers. (between 4-11ms)

Hm... Makes me wonder where that extra 100ms came from by using an Xbox One instead of a PC.

The problem with the xbo speed test is that it takes the latency speed right at the end of the speed test, with a slower connection it wouldnt make much difference but with a crazy high speed connection the network stack is still dropping out of high load state, so it tests latency whilst still under load.

Ironically, despite such a high testing speed, the actual network usage when downloading a purchased game is significantly lower, and only somewhat faster than PSN.

Actual usage for PSN when downloading a game stands at :

3.24mb/s

Actual usage for XBL while download a game (downloading MCC right now for example)

3.93mb/s

Neither network allows a single download to exceed 5mb per second in speed, essentially no matter how fast your connection is, if you are download only one game at a time, the network acts as if your connection is only 40mbit maxed out, steam on the other hand will physically download at over 600mbit (hence real world speeds of 75.7mb/s and higher).

The exception to this rule however is games streaming additional content, some use the standard networks and thus are bound to this 40mbit cap, others used a distributed content provision, like steam, and will download additional content as fast as the network will allow.

wow. u got 2gig symetric?
where do u live?

What the fuck? My internet speed rarely leaves 10 Mbps!

Bet with Xander XT:

I can beat more games on his 3DS than he can on my PSVita in a month. Loser has to buy the winner a game on his/her handheld Guess who won? http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/thread.php?id=193531

Technically, its 4gbit down, 2gbit up, on Nuro Light phase 2 trials (Japan), But i have set the router to symetric which caps it at 2gbit down 2gbit up but doesnt cut into upload speed for the sake of download speed.

And here I felt rich for having a 30 Mbps down and 3 Mbps up speed. Well, at least for my country's standards that's pretty awesome, but I feel so jelly right now.
Anyway it's nice to see Steam and Xbox Live are not limited by their networks but rather by hardware. Having a SSD along with that internet speed is probably the most orgasmic thing ever.

We already knew Xbox Live was faster because it's what Microsoft does. I am truly happy and own a Xbox One. I wake up with a grin on my face. Thank you Microsoft, thank you Phil. Xbox empire has spread overseas and is expanding rapidly. Go Xbox One!

God Bless

Is that only 4,743 Yen / Month? So jelly.

Can't wait for Google Fiber in my area.

If you order it directly from the site yes, but if you wait around, you can occasionally find makeshift stalls in major train stations offering various services, i signed up though one of those and only pay 3200y/month for the connection and an extra 500y/month for a secondary static IP (about $35/month total) no bandwidth shaping, no cap, no management, and no noticable impact in speed during normal peak hours

My max download speed is 5 Mbps... yours utterly crushes mine :(
