Forums - Gaming Discussion - Will Call of Duty AW be reviewed like Driveclub was?

Seniorfarts said:
For people who are not aware of the issue. Call of Duty AW has severe lag compensation issues. That is when a person who has a weaker internet connection than you will be compensated and you punished. Have you ever shot a person first only for them to kill you after? That's lag compensation.

Sounds like Playstation All Stars.  You hit the person and start doing a combo, they teleport out back onto the ground where they were while you're still mid air doing the combo, and get raped because there's nothing you can do.

I haven't noticed any issues with AW.

Driveclub is so broken they haven't released the PS+ version. So not the same thing.

Also, Driveclub's critical reception has more to do with the gameplay, not the online features. Online features were working fine during reviews.

It was also delayed 11 months. Any problems should have been fixed during that time.

Of course not! This isn't even a question.

Numerous reports all over gaf among other places stating how COD AW is a broken mess online. But I doubt you'll see reviewers docking 1-2 points for a broken online. Most people buy COD for the online so if it ain't working it should be losing a lot of marks. Fact is some games get a free pass while others don't. It's sad to see but you'd have to think it's in the reviewers interest not going too hard on a game as big as AW. Activision probably wouldn't take too kindly to a brutally honest review.

Glad I held out on this. Going to loan Ghosts from a friend this Xmas and if AW sorts it's shit out I'll get this for cheap sometime next year.

Shame.

COD will get better scores

Driveclub is still fun!

shikamaru317 ps4 apparently but it also occurs on xbox one . everyoens ping at some of the matches were all read and everyoen was teleporting.

With DC no one coul dget on for ages plus the ps plus edition si stil lnot out and won't be till sometime next year at least after january next year , which was promised to be release on launch day . Its different to COD issues. The game is for me the best COD since MW2.

What does the bolded have to do with the reviews?

The OP is right. The problems with COD:AW are not as big as with Drive Club, but they exist, so reviewers should deduct points or update their reviews to reflect that.

I disagree. Reviewers are telling you their experience with the game.

A game going to crap post review doesn't reflect the experience the reviewer had.

The shitty lag comp./hit detection makes advanced warfare completely unplayable sometimes. I'm not sure how widespread the issues are, but imo, the reviews should still reflect that since online is a big component of the game.

I have had no issues with lag.

To the OP: So you hope the reviewers will nock off some points to AW because of the online issues, or do you think reviewers shouldn't have nocked points of the DC reviews because of its online problems? The former I agree on, if online is a big component, points should be nocked of if it has persisting online problems for a long period of time.

I think AW should be knocked points. It's a yearly billion dollar franchise and at this stage it's a joke that people outside the united states suffer severe lag. The netcode is terrible and they need dedicated servers. This isn't last gen anymore.
