Forums - Gaming Discussion - Will Call of Duty AW be reviewed like Driveclub was?

Of course not! This isn't even a question.

Numerous reports all over gaf among other places stating how COD AW is a broken mess online. But I doubt you'll see reviewers docking 1-2 points for a broken online. Most people buy COD for the online so if it ain't working it should be losing a lot of marks. Fact is some games get a free pass while others don't. It's sad to see but you'd have to think it's in the reviewers interest not going too hard on a game as big as AW. Activision probably wouldn't take too kindly to a brutally honest review.

Glad I held out on this. Going to loan Ghosts from a friend this Xmas and if AW sorts it's shit out I'll get this for cheap sometime next year.

Shame.

I think the game is meh but maybe they didn't have any issues? I haven't had any in the game yet.

Certainly not something even remotely close to #Driveclub, where major features and gameplay elements either weren't ready for launch or were flat out broken.

Idk, is it like that on all consoles? Cause on PC, we didn't really have any issues apart from the occasional host that lives in a rainforest with internet powered by hamsters

The only gripe is that there are no dedicated servers as of yet but apperently, its coming but thats not zomfg bad

But DC is an online game where you couldnt even get online however with CodAW, at least on PC, it runs perfectly fine* online

*Better than ghosts anyway

they review the game and the online works fine because they play it before the release date at which point it crashes for weeks. I play driveclub offline mostly but i play cod online. AW fucking up is a big deal for me if I bought it. ANd I would pay about double the price for COD than I would for AW so with the higher price tag you'd expect it's main component to work.

i heard this game feature lack compensation, if that's true, I'll skip the game again

For people who are not aware of the issue. Call of Duty AW has severe lag compensation issues. That is when a person who has a weaker internet connection than you will be compensated and you punished. Have you ever shot a person first only for them to kill you after? That's lag compensation.

I've been playing on PS4 and there hasn't been any "game-breaking" issues thus far.

Sure there's the occasional lag and sometimes shots seem to rubber band around corners probably due to lag compensation, but no online game is perfect. There's always going to be some lag even if there are dedicated servers.

The reason why DC was rated poorly was because i think reviewers purposely wanted to destroy its image i remember when reviews first started rolling out they were 7/10 and 8/10 but then someone gave it a 5/10 because of that those who initially gave it 8 and 7/10 updated their reviews to 5/10. COD allways gets good scores because the reviewers are on Activisions Payroll

Well I play on Xbone and its been fine.

To compare it to #Driveclub you'd need to have online MP comepletely down and broken, and the exoskeletons coming "at a later date".

Then it would probably get some revised scores.
