I do kind of think they could have made it a New 3DS exclusive, and as a Zelda fan whose favorite game is Majora's Mask, I think MM3D deserves that kind of special treatment, at the same time, a lot of Zelda fans might feel Nintendo was forcing them to buy a new system, one that they'd probably gladly buy, but would complain about anyway. Really, Nintendo loses either way. They either get told they should have made it New 3DS exclusive to take advantage of the new system specs, or they're told they shouldn't force consumer's hands. This isn't a new system after all. It's like the 3DS's Game Boy Color. Also, people might complain that OOT should have gotten the better treament. Finally, there's the fact that they want to get this game out soon to support the 3DS where the install base is in dire need of new games, and the New 3DS is only out in Japan right now, and Japan doesn't give a shit about Zelda. The 3DS is out everywhere and has an audience that could make MM3D profitable. Because lets face it, Majora's Mask, however awesome a game it was, isn't going to be as popular as OOT, ever, and the only reason this remake exists is because we begged for it. On an install base of over 40 million it'll be lucky to get close to selling 2 million copies. If it were New 3DS exclusive, it wouldn't even make a million. And Majora's Mask deserves better than that.
