For the record, it runs on Windows Phone 8.1 Update 1. And, yes, I blame the ads.

Um..  Actually.. Interner Explorer on Windows Phone 8.1 reports itself as an ANDROID phone..   This was because Micorsoft found many websites did NOT display well on Windows Phone IE as it was not being detected correctly. 

You will see other sites that think you are on Android..      but again..  this was done on purprose by Microsoft to impove the web surfing experience on Windows Phone..

I know this. The problem is that Im trying to make the ads here a bit more bearable.

The ad in the screenshot redirects me to some malware page, and I have to reload the VGChartz page, only to get redirected again. It's frustrating as fuck.

Yep, I get the same issue (though I have an android phone). Pretty unsat for a site to redirect you to malware, and the only way to avoid it is to go back to the main page and hope you don't get served the same ad again. But probably get served that ad on every second or third visit, so it's quite common.

Yeah, the ads are somewhat abrasive. Makes browsing on mobile somewhat of a pain.

That's the reason you lost me...!i was forced to use it on mobile(came back to Greece,and internet was blocked because of unpaid bills).In the begining i was reluctant to do it,many days passed without  my presence in vgc and eventually,  i succumbed!My two weeks vgc mobile surfing was an odyssey...i couldn t edit and i couldn t quote,sometimes i couldn t comment...!

Oh god, that's some bad advertising right there. :P

The user agent clearly indicate that it is a Windows Phone.Multiple website are actually doing that. Looks like they are too lazy and coded a simple fall back like:

- If not iOS then Android...
