Forums - Gaming Discussion - Want to see true bias in gaming journalism?

alright clowns.. (those already goofin' on the thread, which I understand.. I'm definitely whining but that whine is about as legitimate as you'll find)

......if you don't like MS, you know.. you're a PS4 guy, you're not into Halo.. and you were asked to review the game, you would give it less than a perfect score. Period. Because your toolness couldn't help but swing around and knock some points off.
You wouldn't be judging the game on it's entirety, you'd be judging it as a MS product, an Xone product. That's what I'm getting at. There's just no way that a truly unbiased reviewer gives it less than 100.

i wanted to give it a better score but i halo should be an open world sandbox with epic set pieces and life changing storyline told entirely though gameplay but it wasn't. it's not my fault i scored halo a 60,. it's the game's fault for not meeting my expectations.

Metroid Prime Trilogy: 91
Metal Gear Solid HD Collection: 91
Ratchet and Clank Trilogy: 83
Jak and Daxter Collection: 81
Devil May Cry HD Collection: 77

For collections, the max score tends to be around 90...quit complaining

Same score for Metroid Prime and Metal Gear Solid? Now that is bias.

Can't argue the scores on any of those games, but if the content they included; between presentation and/or remastering, is anything close to what 343 has done with the Halo series, than maybe all of those deserve higher scores.

This is a joke thread right? Its so hard to tell on this site lol :)

Why should the collection be rated perfect if the individual games aren't?

The perceived monetary value shouldn't be part of a review score.

I for one never understood why Halo was so popular in the first place, the series is good over all and any score between 8 and 9 is pretty amazing for any game or game remake to have... I mean, I understand it has great shooting mechanics, an interesting setting, a mysterious world to discover, very nice sky boxes...

Now for the Uncharted remakes, the mainline titles scores are 88, 96 and 92, they're relatively new, many people prefer them to even The Last of Us, so it would probably score around 90, just like the Halo:MCC remake.

As you said, as far as remakes or remasters go, this bundle is pretty amazing, they did the best they could do with the Halo games on the XB1, offered tons of content, etc. but the reviews judge the quality of the content, not just quantity... otherwise the car game with the most cars/open worldness, etc. would automatically get the highest score, oh wait this is how driveclub had its scores taken down compared to forza horizon 2, I mean, you could literally read MSes PR talking points in the Driveclub reviews on many sites! this is true bias, not when a game get 88 a metascore of 88 instead of 92.

Perfect scores are for the likes of The Last of Us, Uncharted 2, God of War 2 or 3, a couple of Zelda games, some Mario titles, and a very few others, we should not see them every year (unless Naughty Dog releases two titles in the same year).

The love-hate of remasters continues!

I predict NX launches in 2017 - not 2016

Given the content of this post, I don't feel like this thread is going anywhere good (and neither do any of the other mods online).

I'm going to lock it here.
