Forums - PC Discussion - Ubisoft games appear in Origin instead of Steam

I'm certainly not installing Origin so it's Ubisoft's loss.

I'm annoyned as hell by being funneled into this bandit channel with the BF games but I have chosen to make sure those are the only titles I have on my account (I really, really love the BF games so I kinda have to have them...). I don't even download the free games on Origin simply to reduce the imprint of my catalogue on that shameful service.

What a win for EA. They get some of the worst PC ports in the business exclusive to Origin. I'm sure they're proud.

Sigs are dumb. And so are you!

Well, I won't be getting any more Ubi titles on PC then, simple as that. I refuse to support Origin any more than I already am with their lunatic policies, insane pricing and ridiculous terms and conditions.

Agreed. I got mad just because it couldn't even be bothered to save your PW after a month. I recently just deleted it off my PC. Tossed some of the newer games I bought that require it to be on. And replaced them with console versions. I don't really play online. But games like ME3 have to go through all this crap to just let me get into SP. The ps3 version does what I want fine. Than all the annoying pop ups of free games and other junk I don't have.

And I can't even add all my older games into my origin. So I'm like why do I need it installed for 2 games. VS the rest are on steam, and the others by standard disc check. Not to mention, I buy a physical copy to not deal with long downloads. Half the damn time, Origin will not install from disc. WTF did I buy the phycial version. Than, I got to go through some annoying way to get it to detect the discs. Just fucking work like steam, on the first try fine.

Meh. I don't exactly buy a lot of Ubisoft games, but Origin doesn't bother me as much as it does everyone else, I guess. As it stands right now, I have games in Steam, I have games in Origin, and I have games from GOG. Those are the three ecosystems I have money in. Nothing changes for me.

Wow, that's strange. EA is evil so I'd hate for them to be working together now.

Appears they are really trying hard to alienate and annoy gamers as much as possible by trying to corral them into origin whilst diminishing steam in the process which gamers actually like. If that was the idea they deserve a bonus because it's working out brilliantly.

Might EA and Ubisoft will take on steam... With EA's shitty server infrastructure... and all the DRM...
It's an alliance of idiots.

People will be pissed when they go to install the game and it requires another install of origin. Then once they get past that they will be pissed that there PC can't handle any ubisoft games anyways.

UBEASOFT confirmed.

This was going to happen as Steam customers like to buy games at very low prices which effects these publishers. Steam is awesome for customers, but bad for publishers. The publishers will obviously prefer the service which is better for them, rather than the customers.

That's what happens when you only buy a game during Steam summer sales.
