Whatever the outcome, I am definitely looking forward to November testing the hypothesis that for this generation at least Amazon is very accurate at predicting the NPD HARDWARE winner. From memory though I think it was either Nov or Dec 2013 which was the only month where Amazon got it wrong. Pretty sure it was November, because so many of the sales that actually took place in November were recorded in Amazon's inimitable way as October "sales", i.e. pre-orders. That scenario doesn't apply here so the final monthly, and possoibly weekly, ranking should, I think, accurately reflect the national [globally in the USA] rankings.

i doubt anybody is crushing anything in stores! Do you not think both companies will sell out their own shipments? It doesn't matter who goes faster because they'll all go eventually and the net result is one console selling 100-200k more than the other. WHen total sales for both will be so high that's not really a big victory for either. 


Oh you missed the point I was trying to make. You see, Amazon has been perfect so far at predicting NPD winner this year. However, I'm saying that with such a change in the dynamic of shoppers that Amazon could very well be wrong this month in the end. I was only giving an example of XBO crushing PS4 in stores being contrary to what Amazon is currently showing. I do not think this is the case at all

It increased that much in placement. 4506 is 225,300% of 2.

It should have increased by infinity, because it went from zero sales to more than zero sales and you can't get from zero to more than zero without multiplying by infinity.

haha I know what you mean. Currently watching my ex-gf set up her PS4 she just bought at Walmart, so that's at least one PS4 bundle sold!
