With their most recent financial report, Nintendo has reported around a 220$ profit, although many people thought they would post a loss. It is obvious that no longer selling Wii U's at a loss helps them alot, but my question is, will they post a profit at the end of the year? I think so, 2 versions of smash, amiibos, Pokemon, and other holiday games combined with the fact Wii U's aren't sold at a loss anymore

Pokémon, Smash, Zelda (MM3D), amiibo, and of course 3DS and Wii U hardware sales ought to help Nintendo do a tidy profit next year. Of course, a lot of it depends on how high their sales volume is in NA over the holidays. They tanked big time in 2013 over the holidays. 3D World was not the system seller they were hoping it would be.

Hopefully! If they made profit with the low sales of the wiiU and "low" sales of the 3ds (when compared to 2013), I think they will make profit when the sales are much higher for both systems during the holiday

They better, if you can't make money with Smash and Mario Kart you just cannot make money.

It's nearly impossible that they don't. They already have a net profit of around 150M$ for the first half of their FY. And they still have the holiday quarter which they usually always post a 300M$ net profit. So they would have to post a huge net loss in their fourth quarter in order to not be profitable this year.

With Smash, Pokemon OR/AS, and holidays i dun see how they wouldnt
