Hm I was expecting about 200k at launch in the US...well I am sure it will hit 1M before next year is over. Thats what you get Nintendo for understocking this game.

NPD will give a real sense of where the game debuted. Im guessing retail it did ok, maybe even higher than posted here on VGC. I'm sure that Nintendo is going to add in digital sales. Judging from the what we can see from the EU/Japan trackers, it seems the game is very front loaded. On amazon US the game is down to the 80s from being top 8 post it Nintendo direct. Going to be the victim of a bad release schedule.

cant see this game having good legs. i think those that want it get it first week or so.

game gets amazing scores and only 121,000 hard copies are sold the first week. This is why there is no support for third parties on this console. And its not like there are any other games out to compete with it on this console.

not sure what are the EU sales number are but i guess the LT sales would be around 600-700k. unless Bayo 2 would be a bundle this holiday season with a $50 price drop that would also help push sales.

Pretty much this, it went from 6th place debut in UK and straight out of top 40 the week after and disappeared off of Japan top 30 after about a month.

It did quite well in the US, actually, that is a very respectable first week for such a title. However; it will not have any legs and it will fall way short of the 1 million quite a few have been predicting for it.
I do think it will beat my old estimates by some margin but not by a whole lot (my old LT predictions were in the 250-350k range) and I don't think we should be surprised if it struggles to double the global FW sales in lifetime sales. Could go over as well, of course, but I find it very unlikely that it will go over 500k in any scenario and I find 400k to be a bit more probable when all is said and done.

I'm pretty impressed with the small userbase it currently has.

If it has legs it will do well, but with all the promo this has recieved amongst core gamers I think it will be far more front loaded then the ps3 and 360 which saw it arrive as a new IP. Many peeps didn't even expect great things until the reviews came in.

I was hoping it would do 200k the first week but when compared to first week numbers on 360 and PS3, it did pretty well. I think it will do 700k-1m LT.
