I'm wondering about one thing, how to estimate number of machines stores have on the shelves?
I have been to two electronic supermarkets and both had really big piles of xb1:s and ps4:s (but both stores had just a single wii-u)
My guess is that they keep a big stock preparing for Christmas sales.
And now how to estimate number of ps4:s and xb1 on shelves.
Probably only MS and Sony can know how many they produced, and how many of those that contacted their servers.
So if someone say 2 mil ps4:s on shelves are impossible, how do they know/calculate that?

The second fiscal quarter just ended and the companies announced how many of their products were shipped (produced in their factories and then sent to retailers). Since there is a ~2 million discrepancy between VGCs numbers for the PS4 and Sony's shipment numbers, VGC assumes that 2 million PS4's are on shelves at retailers, since VGC tracks sold numbers.

I wouldn't be surprised if there were more PS4's or Xbox One's on shelves than Wii U's though. That's the case at every store I go to. 2 million PS4's out there seems like a stretch, but considering that almost any Saturn or MediaMarkt around my are has roughly 80 - 120 PS4's on display at any given time, it COULD be possible. It's unlikely though.

Very unlikely, because that's assuming Sony shipped nothing for all of October.  The 13.5m shipped was for LTD ending Q3, which is Sept. 30th.  I highly doubt Sony slowed down shipping at the beginning of the busiest season in all of consumer spending.

Sorry, your post is long and hard to quote on my Wii U.

Are you saying that a diversified line up of games on the Wii U is bad? People want a reason to buy a system beyond a few must haves such as Mario, Zelda and smash. The more decent to great exclusives it gets along with well made multi's and ports help as well.
You don't agree?

As for the PS4 comment...why would it offend me? Just felt like you had an ultieror motive for adding that then quickly jumping to your main subject. One that you have been known to be fond of for a while now. But this is a topic for a PM and not a sales thread.

What? They're both entirely on topic, why would he make two seperate posts to post his thoughts .. god.

And your arguments in this thread have been really poor, Sonic Boom lifting WiiU hardware ????

all well and good but i want to see the week ending nov 8th.

A conspiracy theory, how grand. Then we simply won't discuss it.

Vgc on track to undertrack ps4 and X1 by 1M it seems.
regarding the units on display. In brazil and I heard several stores in USA have a lot of empty boxes on display even when they have few in stock, So I wouldn't directly correlate it. Unless you work there and really know stock amount.

duduspace11 "Well, since we are estimating costs, Pokemon Red/Blue did cost Nintendo about $50m to make back in 1996"

Mr Puggsly: "Hehe, I said good profit. You said big profit. Frankly, not losing money is what I meant by good. Don't get hung up on semantics"

Azzanation: "PS5 wouldn't sold out at launch without scalpers."

This is all just to troll the 10 Week Countdown.

PS4 and XB1 adjusted down? That... doesn't make much sense, to put it lightly.

PS4 still over 250k undertracked when Sony announced 10m. Why even bother pretending these numbers are close to correct...

No troll is too much for me to handle. I rehabilitate trolls, I train people. I am the Troll Whisperer.

Bayo 2 did what i expected in the US. Hopefully it's undertracked like Hyrule Warriors was.

Does Brett read the forums? When you have this many people saying consoles are undertracked something needs to be done :
