What's up, my fellow portable-electronic-device fans!

Quick question: Do you have a tablet? What kind, and what do you use it for? Is is a tablet/laptop hybrid (Microsoft Surface)?

I have a 2012 Kindle Fire HD, got it for a bargain refurbished holiday of last year. I use it mostly to watch TV shows, namely while I'm on the treadmill. It's pretty great, but I do dislike how Amazon puts many limitations onto it. I mean, no Chrome! Seriously? I know you and Google are competitors, but still.

Anyway I just got a Samsung Galaxy Tab S 8.4 inch model. It should arrive today. This will be my second tablet, I'm kind of excited. It should be good!

What about you?

Been away for a bit, but sneaking back in.

Gaming on: PS4, PC, 3DS. Got a Switch! Mainly to play Smash

welp.. owned a nexus 7 2012 version.. just bought recently a nvidia shield tablet. with nexus 7, it was awesome at the time.. used for everything from gaming to reading and browsing. My experience with my new love, the shield tablet, has been even better. Not only am i using it as a mobile console, but it's also used to remote play my ps4 and then some.. it's the best piece of mobile tech i've owned.

Man.. I hate it when your girl has to leave my place to come back to you..

Im a tablet use, prefer them to smartphones.

My first tablet was a crappy archos. Had it for 3 months then sold it for the Galaxy Tab 7.

I now use the last years Galaxy Tab 8 and a MS Surface RT, which I am looking to upgrade to the Surface 2 mid next year.

I dont need high end tech and dont really care for ppi and such. GT8 does works fine for netflix/torrents and the Surface RT is excellent for browsing / light work.

Nope, I don't have a tablet. Owning one wouldn't have much purpose for me personally.

Yup, I have a Galaxy Tab 10.1 2014

I use it for reading books, comics/manga, general web surfing. It also has a pressure sensitive stylus which is good for writing quick notes & a little drawing. It's a pretty good device.

Yeah, I'm a huge fan of that form factor. Got my first one in June 2010 (iPad 1 of course), now I have several of these convenient all-rounders.

My main tablet is an iPad Air (9.7'', iOS, 2048x1536), additionally I have a Kindle Fire HDX (7'', Android, 1920x1200), which fits in any jacket pocket. And call me crazy... I just ordered a Lenovo Thinkpad Tablet 8 (8.3'', x86-Windows 8.1, 1920x1200) yesterday to tinker around with Windows on a tablet a bit. ;)

I have no need for something the size of a laptop combined with the uselessness of a cellphone.

WiiU: 30-35m
X1: 30-35m

i have a surface (rt) 2
and i kind of regret to not get a pro. but they are soooo expensive

payed 444 including the type cover. thats cheap compared to 800 without

Yes, I have ASUS Transformer. I am very very satisfied. I use it all the time, as it replaced a PC (don't own a PC since I got this almost 3 years ago).

I use it for entertainment--- mostly to watch NFL, as the battery lasts for a very long time. I also use it for emails, word processing, web surfing and most everything except work. I keep my work at work, on the company's PC. Once I leave work, I am free of that.
I also use it to download torrents, it has a HDMI port so I connect it to my TV to watch series and movies on a bigger screen.
I love how its keyboard detaches, so I only need to have it when I type for a longer period of time.

If anyone is thinking about buying one, I strongly recommend that you look into ASUS Transformer series, it is a great, and also very affordable device.

I've always wanted to get a Surface Pro, but yeah they are way too expensive for me :/

Regular Surface looks really nice too though, the only thing I didn't like was that RT seemed to be lacking in apps.
