Based on Amazon rankings (very accurate) Xbox One will outsell PS4 2:1 or 3:1 this holiday.

That ratio is plenty enough to beat PS4 this year in the good o' USA.

The real question is can Xbox One outsell PS4 in the UK and be competitive in other Euro countries!

I don't think you know what globally means. 

 

And no, real time Amazon rankings whilst accurate are not indicative of total sales.

Ps4 is number one and Xbox is 25. If the xbox number starts to drop then that means the gap is closing. 

 

Oh and also, one retailer does not = all retail.

Not a chance. If it wins a month or 2 it will be by a 100 k or so max. Ps4 is over a million ahead. The Amazon rankings are just a temp spike and not sustainable.  Cone on silly thread.

I think X1 will outsell PS4 between 3/3.5:1 this holiday in the US, with the best price, games and UI on the market. Most if not all of the million gap in the US will be closed in that time. The same thing will happen in the UK.

Europe is trickier, but again, with the best line up of games, I would expect the gap to start closing. The landscape of this generation will be very different at the end of the next two months. If MS decide to cut the cost in UK & Europe too I think we may see a bloodbath

Globally in the US I think the PS4 will slaughter the X1, the effect of that price cut won't last for ever

Nonsense.  The 360 never outsold the more expensive ps3 that much.  You guys are way over the top over a few day spike.

I don't think the Xbox will outperform the PS4 in the US this month or next month and CERTAINLY not in Europe. Using Amazon as a source for entire sales is a little pathetic and I think there are going to be a lot of disappointed Xbox brand monkeys out there.

I think the Xbox is a more attractive prospect at the moment, but hype around the PS4 and the current momentum it has will make that irrelevant. PS4 will continue to outsell the Xbox for the foreseeable future as far as I'm concerned.
