Forums - Sales Discussion - The upcoming X1 price cut will make it match the PS4 sales in the US

Did I miss something? How come everyone already knows what the XB1s sales are for november?

Around the Network

March: Titanfall, the biggest MS exclusive of the year, bundled free with every XB1 purchase.
April: Forza 5 bundled for free
May: XB1 gets a new $399 SKU, removes Kinect, for June.
August: Madden bundled for free, FIFA and Forza bundled for free.
September: get a free game on top of bundled free games, includes any recent game like Destiny.
October: Sunset Overdrive bundled for free

None of these helped Microsoft beat the PS4. In fact the gap has only gotten bigger. But you think cutting an extra $50 and a few more bundles will?

The only way for that to happen is for the PS4 to sell 0 units, and that's just impossible.

Unless Sony does a similar response, the X1 can easily match the nr of sales of the PS4 Globally in the US and perhaps the UK.

X1 is putting up a fight Globally in the US, having extremely close to PS4 sales.

Don't forget that the US and UK are the only regions where the PS4 is not dominating, and X1 is being still very competitive.

What do you guys think?

Fixed.

Also tagging.

I think it could match the PS4 in November. It'll be close.

But December will be PS4.

Nope. it will only happen if the ps4 sells somewhere between 0 to 100k for the rest of the year.

You can't just rely on the last two months of the year for huge sales. The best consoles in history have sold well each year, all year. The X1 did not sell well from January to now despite countless deals. This problem will be even more pronounced next year because the PS4 will have way more games than this year, especially in exclusives.

the XB1 will be competitive in the US going forward, but globally globally - not so much.

It is near the end of the end....

X1 will have a lot more exclusives next year too. MS' goal should be to maintain the $50 gap IMO, if they can win on the value proposition side they have a good chance in the US to be competetive.

One of the objectives for Sony securing Destiny's advertising was to get the FPS crowd in US, and they did it. So, with so many people in US already with a PS4, those people will convince their friends to play COD with them in their PS4's.

No pricecut or bundle is as important as where are your friends playing on. And besides, I'm sure Sony will have their own good bundles in November too.

Would be good if the X1 can stay competitive. That way, Sony can be held in check and not be so complacent.
