Will Xenoblade Chronicles be the next massive Nintendo franchise?

So, as we all know Xenoblade Chronicles X is supposed to release on Wii U, and Xenoblade Chronicles is supposed to release on the new 3DS in 2015. My questions are do you think there is a reason they are really pushing both of these games at the same time? How do you think these two games will sell? Do you feel one will push the others sales? Can Xenoblade Chronicles X sell on par with games like Mario Kart 8 and Smash Bros Wii U? Do you think they will try to make this series the fourth leg of the foundation of Nintendo as a company (along with Mario, Link, and Samus)? Do you find it funny how a game that wasn't even suppose to release Worldwide could wind up a cornerstone?

What can I say besides I agree. You can tell by the way they are handling the franchise and it's characters. Take for instance Shulk's reveal in Smash ONLY having Shulk revealed in it, and for the other characters that were in it were in the Gaur Plains.

Who else had a singular reveal? No one off the top of my head. Megaman was revealed with Wii Fit Trainer and Villager. Robin was revealed with Cpt. Falcon and Lucina.

Just seems like a strange move unless they were trying to give that particular character and game a little spotlight.

Yes.

Xenoblade X is my most antecipated game ever since it was unveiled. At that point i hadnt even played Xenoblade Chronicles yet. After playing that, no sliver of doubt was left. It will be amazing. I am glad i own a Wii U. Might not get the multiplats, but it gets incredibly amazing games every year.

It's not like the (at least Mario Kart 8's) numbers sold will be so astronomically high that it would be out of the question to reach. And with the push of Shulk being in Smash, he will be exposed to MANY more people. Then two games (a handheld and a console) of the series are coming out at practically the same time. Why do you think they done that?

I think you may be surprised by how many people were actually curious about the character when he had his own SINGULAR reveal (which no other character comes to mind wasn't revealed along with someone else), Nintendo is pushing this. Trust me.

Xenoblade will not become as big as Smash or Mario kart.... And why is Samus considered a corner stone of Nintendo's characters? Metroid has never been a big-seller, and Xenoblade won't be either. Donkey Kong is a more important character than Samus in terms of recognition and brand value.

Sorry, but that's just silly...even Skyrim on PS360 combined couldn't reach MK Wii, and Xenoblade Chronicles had less than 1mil on Wii - what makes you think that any RPG on WiiU can reach levels of mainstream game such as MK?

Im going to ignore what you said about the Xenoblade franchise because I still dont get why the fuck this is a thing?

Metroid isnt some foundation of Nintendo, the series is reletively small. Franchise sales havent passed 18m after 18 years, its only had 2 2m+ sellers and 8 1m+ sellers, its most recent game was 2010 which sold 1.27m.

For comparison (VGC)
Animal Crossing- 26.69m/ 4 games
Pokemon- 232.7m/ 45 games
DK- 64.98m/ 32 games
Kirby- 34.68m/ 22 games

And this is ignoring franchises like Wii, Mario Party, Mario Kart, Smash Bros etc.

Quite simply, Metroid is niche for Nintendo, not 1 of it 3 foundation legs.
