i love how the voting on a sales-based site, is complete opposite to actual sales

It shows you how much a representative sample makes the difference. The people on this website represent a minority of hardcore gamers, we do not hold the same values as average gamers who just play a round of COD each night to unwind.

And yet people don't believe me when I say this is a Nintendo majority site. I'm not denying it has great value too as I have one but people seem to think this is a Sony centric site for some reason.

Hardcore gamers all love Nintendo. Sony and Microsoft however.......well there is no reason why the bias should go Sony.

Trollface, I'm joking

So the only possible reason why Nintendo's biggest franchises would show up on the top of the charts of "most wanted" is because the site is dominated by Nintendo fans? It couldn't just be because most gamers here aren't biased, and Nintendo's biggest once-in-a-generation franchises (and their newest "hardcore" franchise) are announced but not yet released?

Have a look at the lists themselves, and you'll see what I mean. There's quite a few multiplatform titles, some new IPs, and some remasters, when it comes to other systems. And it makes some sense - the Wii U is most in need of momentum, and thus Nintendo have some huge titles announced and teased.

Aside from that, another argument could be made that PS4/XBO owners are more "satisfied", and thus aren't quite so "hungry" for upcoming games. Or that they're currently too busy playing their systems to take the time out to vote on things like this (I'm a Wii U owner, and I didn't vote for the same reason).

In short, your assertion isn't the only plausible explanation for why the numbers look like this, this time.

Wow! Glad to see lots of hype on the top 4 games
And im surprised Splatoon was that high well i voted it for 5 points in December.

48% is not a majority.

fine then the largest slice of the pie.  And I'm not saying this is definitive proof I'm just saying people laugh when I've suggested the sites largest contingent is Nintendo fans.  I do have a WiiU too however so I guess I'm a part of that and would certainly have put Smash in my most wanted if I had seen this to vote

I wouldn't laugh. But to me it seems to be a pretty even split between Nintendo and Sony. I would agree that if either side tends to have an 'edge' over the other, it's Nintendo. However, there are also some primarily Xbox or PC fans on this site (as well as relatively unafiliated users), which usually means no single brand dominates the results of a poll.

Nintendo has extremely popular games like Smash and Zelda that even non-Nintendo fans will vote for. Not a lot of Nintendo fans are voting for Bloodborne, Uncharted, etc. That's why Nintendo generally dominates the Most Wanted threads.

EDIT: I want to show some examples of this phenomenon.

It depends on the time of year, The Last of Us and Uncharted also dominated just before their release. Metal Gear Solid also tends to explode as well.

I have to write up my analysis, but I expect PS4 to top WiiU next month, and Vita to top 3DS. The 3DS doesn't have much going for it, and the Vita fans are much more dedicated then the 3DS fans on this site (I can see a lot of 3DS votes going to other consoles, where Vita stays Vita). PS4 should come on top with Bloodborne and The Order releasing in February, then I expect WiiU to lead again, and then shuffle again.

Will be interesting to see what happens next month when Smash U is out of the picture...

As expected, not much in the way of migration. The big losses are Smash 3DS, Bayonetta, and Sunset Overdrive, and it seems like JRPGs move to fill the gaps around the bottom.

Next month will be interesting, I expect a lot of 3DS votes to shift over to the Majora's Mask Remake which was announced recently. Still the fighting genre will take a big hit and everything else should rise.

When is the next Nintendo Direct?
