Mindshare.

If Spencer and the X1 can take this holiday to build up mindshare, correct the ill-image they have, and advertise their advantages over Sony such as actually good exclusives and a network that actually works reliably, then they can carry that momentum over into 2015.

If not we can continue to Await Greatness...

Lots of ifs dependent on high hopes of best case scenerios.

X1 is dead in the water early 2015, do they have a single game to go up aginast Bloodborne and The Order in Feb? nope guess what little momentum they can achive will be driven into a wall given their game drought in 2015.

Not Really.

Xbox will probabally put out a $350 Bundle for Evolve and Witcher 3.

Meanwhile sony will likely have a $400 Bundle for Bloodborne and The Order 1886.

I obviously don't expect Xbox to win NPD, but i wouldn't go as far as to say 'dead in the water'.

BTW, XB1 will have some cool exclusives early next year like Below, Screamride, and Inside.  I obviously wouldn't expect them to be system sellers, but at least you can't say they don't have anything comming out.

Yes really.

See x1 sale in 2014, they drop hard after the holidays.   Dekupling Kinect and free games had to be used to avoid getting constantly doubled in sales by PS4s dominance based on nothing at all.  No big games no big promotions not cuts nothing.

As i said early in the year.

Thanks, I needed a good laugh! XD

It looks like I was right. XB1 is winning in USA right now as I expected it to.

Have people already forgotten March and June NPD?It will be close but let's wait and see.

I don't think it deserves anything but it will be interesting to see the results for November. Sony doesn't have to do anything to stay competitive but they still have plenty of time to announce their deals. Way too early to count them out

Wow. Ps4 is our of the top 20 on Amazon. How the mighty has fallen. Gamers have found their true voice. The season of Xbox is upon us. You deserve all the praise and the sales Microsoft. You are a beacon of hope for all gamers.

November only? Come on this is the start when they will reclaim NA!

This humbled crap is making me sick. Yah, MS has some good holiday deals, but it seems some people are forgetting the company consumer relationship. Even if its a joke by some its really terrible. This goes for both sides since I've seen the PS nation thread with this headline as well. Its fine to appreciate the effort and even be flattered by it, but be humbled because of a price cut, a move like all others, intended to separate you from your money? No, company provide goods and services to us not the other way around, being humbled by it is honestly taking reverence of a company/brand/product to religious fanatic levels.

OT: Agree with Intrinsic, Sony countered TitanFall and took that NPD, if they counter November, then its anyone's game. Every single time, XB1 is predicted to outsell the PS4 it is assumed that the PS4 is doing nothing, literally selling zero units in some cases. Also this fake rhetoric about Sony not being able to take the loss is silly. Sony took losses for years with the PS3, a 2 month price cut isn't going to cost them as much, especially if it build user base significantly.
Realistically, if Sony doesn't do anything, which is likely at this point, since its Nov, then XB1 would win but I doubt by any larger than the gap, which is like a 1mill in the US. And if its closer than 1mil the gap grows.

Like a rubber band snap to the eye you have woken me and cleard the smoke from my vision. I am humbled by your honesty, candor, and for bestowing rightious clarity. Seriously tho I agree with you assessment. The holidays will be tight and if Amazon is any indication then Xb1 might just close the gap. As far as sony goes at the end of the day its like rocky/boxing. The amount of damage you can do doesn't matter as much as the amount of damage you can take and keep on going. Sony may have been beat in the past but they had a training montage and are ready to take the title back this gen. Just like next gen I have no doubt that MS will have learned from it's mistakes and have a training montage and take it back. or maybe Nintendo will.

Looking at what Sony (hasn't) announced for this month so far, I think Sony is banking on Black Friday and GTA V/Far Cry 4/LittleBigPlanet 3 week. It'll be interesting to see how the 2nd half of November will turn out.

Dragon Age, Far Cry 4, LBP3, and GTAV will definitely move consoles. I will expect a couple of bundle announcements soon as well. Sony is in no way in bad shape for PS4 sales, should be interesting.

Yeah, those games will definitely help the PS4 considering Sony has exclusive marketing for Far Cry 4 and I assume for GTA V, too. Sony is just very tricky to make out right now. I'm not sure if Sony is being too complacent or being shark in the water, waiting to make its strike.
