Forums - Gaming Discussion - The Witness To Be Playable At PlayStation Experience

Jonathan Blow was pleased to announce on twitter today that his game, The Witness, will be playable for the first time at PlayStation Experience along with titles such as Bloodborne, No Man’s Sky and Until Dawn, among others. This event will be held on Dec. 6 and 7 in Las Vegas, Nevada at the Venetian and tickets are currently on sale.

The Witness, however, is different than Jonathan Blow’s last game, Braid. The move from 2-D to 3-D opens up new graphic marvels with geometric shapes creating trees, windmills, mountains and towers among other wonders. The color pallet is stunning but the game does not have distracting or chaotic patterns and textures that would otherwise take away from the game. Rather, the scenery is stunning in its simplicity and enhances the overall feel, encouraging adventure and exploration.

This puzzle game takes a very non-linear approach. The game teaches players its puzzle language and each puzzles illustrates concepts making them less like arbitrary obstacles and highlights their relevance to the game. This aspect removes some of the difficulty by allowing players to find other puzzles when they get stuck and by helping them close the complexity gap between what they can and cannot achieve without dumbing the game down. Even failure helps players learn and there will be plenty of time to learn with over twenty hours of gameplay just in the puzzles.

Braid is really good, I wonder if The Witness will be half as decent. It kinda looks like Myst.

My grammar errors are justified by the fact that I am a brazilian living in Brazil. I am also very stupid.
