Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Any gen where you preferred the competitors console rather than your favorite company's?

My attention has been split pretty evenly between Sony and Nintendo, so I don't know if this really counts.

PS1 was the clear Gen 5 winner. Only gen where 2nd place wasn't even remotely close. Ocarina of Time might be my favorite game of all time, but man, the N64 sucked the big one. Easily Nintendo's worst console.

I would also call the PS2 and PS3 better than the Gamecube and Wii, but not by so huge a margin as the PS1 and N64.

Every other gen, Nintendo has had the best console, and of course they've always had the best handheld.

Yes! Nintendo lost me as a longtime fan when they released GameCube. I'd been the biggest Nintendo fanboy up until I got a PS2. Heck, I hate PS1 to this day and I think it's because of how much of a Nintendo fanboy I used to be. Fast forward some 15 years later and Nintendo is the one company I'd not consider when thinking about which console to buy. While many games are playable, I see nothing worth owning on Ninty's consoles.

PC GAMING: BEST GAMES. WORST CONTROLS

A mouse & keyboard are made for sending email and typing internet badassery. Not for playing video games!!!

Not really.

Though I liked my Dreamcast better than my GameCube in the 6th Gen. The Dreamcast was of course already out when GameCube even released, so it's questionable.

I was not biased, nor did I even know I was supposed to be biased until I found VGChartz on the Internet. My answer is all consoles before VGChartz.

I describe myself as a little dose of toxic masculinity.

Always liked PS the most. 7th gen was close though, the 360 was a great console.

I have always preferred Nintendo consoles, but during the N64 generation the PS got a lot of games that I really wanted specially fighting games since I liked them a lot, I was not much into RPGs but those were also only available on PS, so I think during that gen I liked the other console more, but did not have money to purchase both, the good news is that piracy was so rampant and cheap that I purchased my most liked fighting games for 1 dollar each and a memory stick to play on my friends houses.

Honestly, no. I've had PS1, 2, 3 and 4 and I think it's always been the best choice for my tastes.

The closest it got was Nintendo 64.

Now, when it comes to handhelds, I'm thinking of eventually getting a 3DS. Though I live in Japan and travel a lot, so region locking turns me off.
