Forums - Sales Discussion - Sony Cuts PS4 To £329 In UK This Weekend Will US Follow?

Sony has temporarily reduced the price of PlayStation 4 to £329.99 for this weekend only.

GAME, Amazon, Tesco, Asda, Argos and ShopTo.net have each reduced the black 500GB console to around the £329 mark, knocking £20 off the usual retail price.

If you're interested in grabbing one at the lower price, though, be sure to shop around tomorrow or Sunday. According to Sony, the price cut is only valid this weekend, with the console expected to return to its regular price on Monday.

The promotion means that PS4 is now available for the same price as an Xbox One, which was cut to £329.99 last month.

Sony announced last night that PS4 had sold 13.5 million units worldwide since going on sale last November.

This will give it a nice bump to kick off November. I think Sony may do a price cut in the US for Black Friday, but it's hard to say.

Sony knows that the US is Microsoft territory, and that MS is cutting the Xbox One's price there. Cutting the PS4 price to $350, even if only for Black Friday, will give Sony more than enough sales to stay ahead of the Xbox One for the November NPD.

Who knows. I predict that they will want to stay as competitive as possible in the US; but their is a difference between a promo and a pricecut. I don't think Sony is really that concerned with total domination. .

Currently you can order a PS4 with CoD: AW and Last of Us for £350 from GAME. A far better deal.

Hmm, pie.

But how is Sony able to cut the price when they're about to go out of business?

They use euros in the UK! But however much it is, where is it coming from if they don't have the money?

It's actually a pretty awful deal if you look around

So it's a 1-week price drop?

It's only a desperate move when Microsoft does it!
