Wow, this thread is really a cesspool of contradictions. Its clear that people don't need a reason to hate something and they would just fabricate one if need be. Its ripe with that kinda double standars that plauge most gamers these days.
First off, can anyone point out any RPG game whose quests aren't primarily made up of fetch or kill missions? Go to this cave and get this, there is a pack of monsters tormenting here, kill them, there is a hidden treasure i this or that cave. Collect these items so you can unlock this door...etc. Every single RPG game at its core boils down to those exact kinda missions. Every single one of them. The missions are just wrapped in some basic form of lore to give them substance. But yet, if FF does it its suddenly bad boring game.
Every final fantasy game has certain things in common, things that any fan of the series will come to expect. There will always be more optional quests or side missions than you would be willing to complete. There is always some rare power, weapon, bosses that you would have to seek out and level up to beat. Thre will always be complex side quests like getting the gold chocobo, dodging lightning strikes 100 times, beating yaizmat, getting te ultima weapon...etc.
Honestly, when I see anyone refer to a FF game (especially when all they are look it is a tech/traversal demo) and say its boring/there is nothing to do it just screams ignorance of the highest order. Cause anyone that knows FF will know these are simply not possible. Even my most hated FF game, FF13... whcih i hated for its linear story and level design had way more to do than i could do.
And everything that I have seen of FFXV, has so far addressed every teething problem or issue I was having with the series. Any fan of the series will know exactly what I am talking about. Now those that aren't fansor haven't played a proper FF game before (not that FF13 crap); I will suggest that they just be a little patient till they can see more of the game. Games that are designed to give you 100+hrs of content can't possibly be measured/quantified from 5min demos.
