This game doesnt excite me. I was watching another open world demo of FF XV. A guy wearing "modern / city" dress / cosplaying and running like a mercenary looks out of place. It doesnt feel right. I dont know what is special in this game that is making people crazy.

Maybe I dont follow brand name (final fantasy). Or maybe I am different. But in the end FF XV looks average. I have a suspicion that it might get released during cyberpunk 2077. And cyberpunk 2077 (none have seen the game, judging from description) might turn out to be a better game.

Looks boring... driving a car and that weird dance walking, I don't see it.

It is impressive. But the problem I would have is walking around having nothing to do. Is there any reward for exploring? Are there things to do on the road?

This feels like Great Sea "big" from Wind Waker, rather than Gran Pulse from FFXIII/Xenoblade big.

Its a whole lot of geography with nothing in it but we'll wait and see come nearer to release.

Tabata said the world map would be filled with NPCs, enemies and events, but they left all of that out because they were only demonstrating the exploration of the expansive world map.

Cosplayas delight! 

Yeah to be honest I hate their look. they look out of place. like Cosplayers or Emo kids.

The main complaint in the previous final fantasy(s), FFXIII was that it was too linear. This is the exact opposite of linear. That is why hypes people up for the game. Not to mention the sudden increase in gameplay videos of a game thought to be in dev hell, is also making people excited.

Also, they look out of place, cause they really don't have any buisness being out in the wilderness, then again older final fantasy had a lot of wilderness exploration like FFX

You are kind of cluless about this game. Story-wise the main cast are indeed out of place. They are royalty but war was forced them out of their kingdom. The setting is very similar to VII and VIII. Nothing objectivly negative can be said about it. The game trying to tell a story about our modern world through fantasy. It is a mix of both.

As of what special, I'd say it is the combination of everything. The story meant to be mature, the gameplay is engaging with a lot of strategic elements, the rich content (mini games, side quests, dungeons to explore, fishing), the attention to evey detail is amazing, and everything we love about Final Fantasy ( Magic, Limit breaks, Summons, weakness elements.. Etc).

Now, you tell me what is not special about it. Sometimes that is not based on shallowness.. Of course.
