PS4: ~12,625,000
Xbox One: ~6,400,000
Wii U: ~6,819,564

I'm confused, the PS4 was as far as we know at 2:1 worldwide right? So how could the XBO at this point be at less than 2:1, if the PS4 is still outselling it worldwide?

Unless that 2:1 never actually happened?

it's basic math actually...

To maintain the 2:1 ratio Ps4 needs to sell two console per xone sold. Now this seems easy right?

But think about it,Xone was released in several new countries including china where PS4 wasn't released yet.

Now,Let say xone sold ~200k in this new countries.Ps4 have to sell 400k just to compensate this numbers.

Think about globaly now! if Xone sold ~800k last month WW this means PS4 needs to sell 1,6 millions WW at the same timeframe.

As you can see, it's hard to mantain 2:1 ratio because even if PS4is outselling Xone, this is not enough to keep the ratio.

That's why a lot of people here don't believe Ps4 can reach 50% market share. It's the same logic....

ethomaz you disappoint me with that huge number...stores don t stock up and are very conservative on wiiu, many don t have it and others don t order any!Nintendo sells almost what it ships,so don t be surprised with 290k or even much fewer on the shelves...it s like being sold out

Even if this is true...

You can be sure sure less than 200-300k on shelves is hard because there are units in moviment yet or big retail warehouses... I used 600k on shelves but I can be fine with 400k too... not a big difference.

Now the actual situation showed by VGC is ridiculous (sold more than shipped?).

Ps4 has a higher baseline. It only makes sense that there are more on shelves worldwide...

Do you honestly believe there are 600K Wii Us on the shelves? You do realize how many countries have stopped stocking the Wii U don't you?

Well, 12.65M puts the PS4 just 175K shy of that 2:1 worldwide ratio so his predictions aen't far off.

I have to agree though, basically cause I don't see the PS4 having more units on shelves than the XB1. So my take is either that the PS4 has sold a little better or the XB1 has sold a little less.

I am curious as to where Daer_Feanor is though. He was always championing "SHIPPED" official numbers as the only credible source for sales. Now we have them and he is nowhere to be found.

Lol really?

I figure it

250k on shelves in usa

100k on shelves in japan

250k in the other 100+ countries its in

PS4 never worked with invenctory and sell way fast than Xbone.

Xbone worked with invenctory, sell slower and launched in the marjority of countries in September.

All points works to Xbone have more inventory on shelves than PS4 and the difference is not small.

I think that theres alot of assuming in the numbers. Its not a constant value.

I'm pretty sure Japan has already sold out all their Day 1 stock by now. Even if it isn't it would only be 1K max left of that stock. Why would retailers order 100K when it's obvious it's only selling up to 15K a week max?

Japan numbers on shelves is even less than 50k for PS4... something between 10-30k for Wii U is reasonable.

I don't even know how it reach these 100k
