Great numbers for PS4! Possibly a little undertracked on VGC but no matter how you look at it, great numbers
IMO 1.5 million on shelves is pretty reasonable considering the pace at which PS4 is selling. So if it's 13.5 million at 30 Sept, then 12 million sell through give or take 100K is where I think it's at. VGC as at 4 Oct is at 11.75M which means roughly 200-250K under the lower end of where it should be. Not bad tracking. Sales to 18 Oct should be up at 12.5 Million at least.

The other thing I just realised is that even if all of MS's 2.5 million shipped Xbox's were XB1's (which we know is extremely unlikely), then the PS4 still outshipped the XB1 and Wii U combined plus some for Q1 and Q2.

You can't say with certainty that it is undertracked. It's not outside the realms of possibility that there were 1.75 million PS4's in the retail system as at 30 Sept. A little higher than I would expect, but not grossly high.
It's interesting that Sony didn't announce 12 million sell through, and I would have thought that would be positive PR if they had reasonable confidence of that figure. Though perhaps Sony has decided to only announce sell through in lots of 5 million. Or maybe they've lost track now and can't credibly claim sell through any more.

announcing evey million sold would make then look pathetic.
20 million is the next likley announcment. Or whatever it is 27 or 30 at E3

They used to combine PS3 and PS4 numbers, so it was impossible to know how much exactly each had shipped. Now they are again giving separate numbers.
